Toni's POV
While KT was away the boys bought her a Xbox and a PlayStation for when she comes home, so we all go back to Thistlehouse and the boys show KT how to play.
"You're a fast learner," Sweetpea says
"Well I am Classed Efficient," KT says back nonchalantly
"What does that mean?" Jughead asks
"It's a test we take in Canada, only 1-3 people pass every year then you're like thought of as extra smart so you get first chance at a lot of opportunities and really fancy people talk to you, there were only 2 people in the province to pass my year and we got to meet the prime minister,"
"So you're a genius?" Fangs asked
"In layman's terms yes, I guess" KT replied
"Bad news Cheryl she's not your kid," Sweetpea joked
"Why is that?" Cheryl sassed back
"Because she's actually smart,"
"HEY! I'm smart,"
"Sure you are babe," I say rubbing her shoulder.
"KT give me a question that was on this test thing,"
"Ok, No calculator what is the square root of 3969?"
"Uh, um, ugh, I DON'T KNOW! I'm not a math genius,"
Cheryl asks the boys if they know and none of them do, I don't either.
"KT you're kidding right?" Fangs asks
"No."
"What's the answer than?"
"63,"
I search it up and she's right.
"I'll give her one, what is the square root of 8836?" Jughead says confidently
KT thinks for just under a minute.
"Ninety.... Four, the square root of 8836 is 94"
"Bro," Jug looks at me "Literally just pulled that number from thin air."
I search up a square root she would definitely not know and challenge her.
"I think you just got lucky, what is the quake root of 6482?" I say (it goes into a decimal so I thought I caught her)
She thinks for a little longer this time before saying.
"How many decimal points do you want?"
"As many as you know." I say back
"Fine. 80.51086883148 and more decimal places but I don't want to do them right now,"
"According to google she is right," Jughead says astonished "Great job kid"
"Eh my sister got higher than me anyways," She shrugs
"Sister?" Toni asks
"Ya, did I never talk about her?"
"Uh no," Cheryl says with a 'duh' tone in her voice
"Oh sorry her name is Tayleigh (Tay-lee) we always moved together until one day she just got moved, or taken who knows happened all the time but I cried a lot after it happened because well she was my sister. That's why i grew up so tough because after that I had to fight for myself, i had to start sticking up for myself to our foster parents,"
"Were you twins?"
"Yep"
"What day is your birthday anyways KT?" Jug asked
"July 4th, 3 days after Canada Day!!"
I look at Cher
"Canada... day?" I asked confused
"July 1st was Confederation Day when the British North America act was signed splitting us from Britain, well that what i read anyways," Jug says looking at his phone
"Today is June 28th, KT why didn't't you tell us anything." Cher asks
"Don't you guys have a celebration in July? I thought it was the same day."
"No we call ours the 4th of July," Fangs says
"Ok so it's on the 4th but what is it called?"
"The Fourth of July," I repeat
"Mommy, I'm not confused, I remember the date, you just said it! do you call it America Day or Freedom Day or something?" KT says
"We call it by its date sweetie," Cher says laughing "the holiday is called the 4th of July,"
"Oh cool,"
"So your parents named you Kathryn and Tayleigh?" Fangs says changing the subject
KT shakes her head while drinking her water.
"No, my birth name was Taylor,"
"Taylor and Tayleigh, hmm who was older?"
"Tayleigh was older than me, but only by like 2.5-3 minutes,"
"You know I had a twin too," Cheryl says "and he was 3 minutes older than me too"
"His name was Jason, right?"
"Uh... ya how did you know that KT?" I asked suspiciously
"I told you I'm smart," She replied
"Haha, kid knowledge doesn't just pop into your mind like that,"
"Fine, 1. It's on the wall in the hallway near my bedroom and 2. My foster parents in Montreal had the TV on and it said something like '8th' anniversary of the infamous death of teen Jason Blossom. He was shot by his own father on July 11th after being held captive for 7 days. His only living relative Cheryl Blossom, blah blah blah, I didn't hear the rest of it because my mom hit me and I ran away to my room."
"So you knew who I was when we adopted you," Cheryl says and she has a slight frown now.
"I mean I saw that broadcast almost a year before you adopted me so I kinda thought you looked familiar, but I also thought Toni looked familiar because she was standing beside you in the broadcast but the only reason I remembered was because that's the night Tayleigh ran away or whatever."
"Oh ok,"
KT turns back to the boys, and she asks if they got FIFA.
"Ya, but you seemed like a kid who would hate soccer." Jughead jokes
"I was MVP of my soccer team 2 years in a row," KT shrugs "So I don't really like it, I'm just good at it"
"Pfft, I bet I can beat you," Sweetpea says non chalantly
"I bet I can beat you with Toni on my team," She says
"Whats that supposed to mean?" I say jokingly
"Well, I've beat you in every sport we've played so far,"
"Ya well Toni and you wouldn't be fair, we are scared of her so... you get Cheryl, I get fangs."
"Deal," KT says
"Um hello? Why aren't I as scary as Toni?" Cheryl says with a frown
"Because you're just so damn adorable" I say kissing her cheek.
"Awe you two are cute," Fangs says sarcastically
"Screw off Fangs," I say hastily while throwing a pillow at him
"TONI!" Cheryl yells
"What did I take your pillow princess?" I say frowning "Come here."
I pull her into my lap.
"No, Babe, I meant watch your language,"
"Ah, well screw you too," I say sarcastically
"BABE! IM DONE" Cheryl says
"Fine, I'll listen,"
"You trained her well," Sweetpea says sarcastically
"Screw you," I say putting my arms around Cheryls shoulders
"BAD WIFEY" Jughead says laughing
"I hate all of you," I mutter
"Even me?" Cheryl asks looking up and pouting
"Never you," I smile as I kiss her
"FANGS! I'M CANADA, DON'T BE MEAN, I WON LAST GAME AND CALLED IT," KT yells from the ground
"I'll change it kid," He says "Man she's git Toni's competitivness with Cher's attitude,"
"HEY!" Cher and I say at the same time
"FANGS! Have you never heard the term 'the puck in the kings rink,' I'm the home team until I lose," KT says shaking her head. "You need to learn coutersey rules, the Canadian rules, stop being such a dummy!"
"Ya Fangs," I say with a 'duh' tone.
"Well apparentley the internet is right, Canadians take hockey very seriously, both fictional and non fictional hockey." Fangs says.
"I'm home, my call in team, you choose the jersey you want, I choose rules, you choose the penalties and legnth,"
KT tells Fangs.
"Ok, I'll be... Arizona,"
"You don't have to let me win Fangs its NO fun,"
"What is Arizona not good?" Fangs says, he doesn't have a clue
"Uh, well they did make history this season," Kait says
"GREAT!"
They select their team and by the end of the first period KT is up 4-0.
"Oh, oh thats right! I didn't tell you what they made history for," KT says picking up her water
"What was it?" Sweetpea laughs
"First team in NHL history to lose their first 21 games straight in regualtion," She says picking up her game controller
"Fangs buddy, you didn't do you homework it seems," I say laughing
"Shut it," He says
