Goodbyes

Cheryl's POV
I walk in and they had already taken reggie away.
"They said he was looking okay," Toni mutters
"I know baby," I sigh sitting beside her
This is going to be really hard on her. On all of us really, but Reggie was her best friend, she loved him.
"Babe, they need the room," I whisper
She nods and stands up
She hasn't been crying too hard.
"What'd he say babe?" I ask "did you get to talk about anything at least?"
She nods
"He wants the Macarena at his funeral and Uptown Funk at his burial," she says
"Of course he does," I say laughing through my tears
"He said he loved you, he wanted you to know,"
"I know," I say "I know he did,"
"I guess we should head home?" She says "I don't know what to do,"
"Let's go home," I say
She nods and we go pick the boys up.
"Mommy what's wrong?" TJ asks
She bends down and hugs both of them tight.
"Uncle Reggie isn't coming home boys," she says crying
"What do you mean?" Owen asks "does he have to stay like momma did?"
"No Sweetheart," she sighs "he passed away,"
"What about Tate,"
"Tate passed away too,"
"Oh," is all they say
They don't understand death- as much as they want to they don't,
I drive home, it's quiet. Toni's still crying and the boys are just sitting there.
"Boys can you just go to your room so we can talk with the girls?" I ask
"Okay," they both say
I find the girls watching a tv show in the living room.
"Girls," I say sitting down and turning the TV off
"What's wrong?" Kait asks
"Girls, we were at the hospital just now," Toni sniffles "because there was a terrorist attack,"
"There's terrorist attacks all the time," Tayleigh says confused
"They took a plane down over the Atlantic," she continues "after a struggle a bunch of people unfortunately passed away,"
"People? Like people we know?" Alex asks
"It's Tate," Kait says crying "isn't it?"
"Yes, unfortunately Reggie and Tate were on this plane,"
"They both.."
"They both passed away," Toni says "Tate on impact and Reggie at the hospital. Neither of them were in pain, Reggie said he loves you girls,"
"Girls I know, I know how hard it is," I say "it's going be different, we're going to be okay though,"
Toni grabs a picture of her and Reggie off the fireplace and looks at it.
"Babe, are you okay?" I ask
She shakes her head.
"I need to sit outside," she says
I nod and she leaves.
"Mom isn't going to be the same for a while," I say "she's hurting, a lot,"
"Why is it always our family mom? Why are we the only people to have crazy ass stuff happen to us?" Lexi asks
"I don't know Lex," I sigh "I guess you four just got a very unlucky hand when we brought you to Riverdale,"
Looking back- we made these kids lives hell. Through and through we screwed them up.
"Riverdale has been the best time of my life," madi says "hands down,"
We all sit there in silence for a couple hours.
"I need to check on your mom, can you make sure your brother are okay?" I ask
Madi nods and I go outside
"Hey baby," I say sitting next to her
"You think Reggie's watching me here?" She asks
"I know so Tones,"
"I'm cry harder and harder every time I think about him and he told me he would haunt me if I cried and I just wanna see him again Cheryl,"
I nod and rub her back.
"I got a call from his lawyer," she says
"Already?"
"He left everything to us," she says "covered all the kids education,"
"No he didn't," I say shocked
She pulls her phone out and starts reading something
"Toni
I know you and Cheryl have no money issues right now.
But if I die, sometime soon. If something happens to me, I'm leaving everything to you. I don't have any family left, you're all I've got. All I ask is you take care of my boy, not spoil him- don't give everything to him, but pay for his education and make sure he doesn't sink. I love you T, you and Cheryl have been my best friends forever. Thank you.

I rub her back and she cries even harder.
"Babe I need to get out of here. I need to go, I need to go," she says standing up
"Where and why?" I ask calmly
"Riverdale High- Reggie told me not to let anyone else coach,"
"Are you okay to drive?" I ask
"I am, but I'm going to drink so I'll call you,"
"Please?" I ask
"I promise babe,"
"Okay I love you,"
"I love you too,"
She leaves and I go back inside.
"Mom, is Toni okay?" Alex asks
"She will be sweetheart. She's hurting a lot but she's being honest with me at least and I'll help her,"
"What about you?" She asks
"I loved Reggie, he was one of my best friend's but I know he would get angry at me for crying,"
She nods and I sigh
"We'll be alright sweetheart, after the funeral Toni will be alright. I promise,"
