Cheryls POV
The ghoulies leader comes in and Madi immediatley pushes KT and Alex behind her and threatens him.
"Madisyn and Lexi Ward," He taunts "How did you you two go from Seattle to the Hicktown of Riverdale? Get kicked out of the state?"
"No we were adopted, no thanks to you, and I suggest you leave,"
Toni and I get up and begin walking towards them.
"Who adopted scum like you?"
"Toni and Cheryl Topaz-Blossom, not that it's any of your business," She snaps "Great catching up. Now leave,"
"Lexi, too bad I didnt bring Dylan you two could have re united,"
"Not in Hell would I let my sister talk to your perv of a son ever again,"
Finally Toni steps in.
"Ah the person I was actually looking for," Malachai says
"Go away Malachai, we chased the ghoulies out of town years ago,"
"Ya I'm still a little upset about that but whatever, I need to speak to you about the serpents,"
"Why the fuck does it need to be me?" I reply
"Toni, language," I say
Malachai and Toni ignore my comment
"because Pinkie, we need to talk to serpent royalty and last time I checked you were the queen."
"If you did your homework you would've known, I'm not serpent royalty, Jugheand Betty are the king and queen,"
"maybe officially, but around the country people are talking about you. Pink, lets talk frankly, you are and always have been royalty, from east coast to west coast, people were gunna take over serpent territory but they dont even try, and do you know why? Because they are scared of you Toni not Jughead and his barbie doll,"
"What the hell do you want?" She demands
"I just wanted to let you know I'm back, and once we get rid of you the serpents will fall, whats a kingdom if they don't have their true leader?" He taunts "The ghoulies will rise again,"
"Over my dead body will your tribe come back to Riverdale,"
"Toni, Toni, Toni, Thats what I'm saying, we aren't coming back until you are taken care of,"
"Don't even think of touching her," Madi says stepping around Toni and getting face to face with Malachai
"I already broke your nose, and made sure your son will never see straight again, don't think I wont do it again. You already made my sisters life hell, don't make Toni and Cheryl's life hell or I will deal with you, or take it out on your little demon prince,"
"Madi, back up," Toni says softly "it's ok,"
Madi listens and stands right to Toni's left.
"Malachai, it took me a long time to be happy after that incident. Ask Cher, I almost lost her because I couldn't figure myself out, I know it was a ghoulie Archie hired to shoot me but I do not hold a grudge, just leave and let nme be happy," She says in a different tone
"Your still with that bitch?"
"Watch it," Madi says clenching her fist
He turns and swings his fist at Madi who ducks and laughs, high fiving her sister.
"Still a slow little bitch, just like your son. I think you would've learned to leave me and my family alone by now," Madi teases
"Whatever I'll be back,"
"better not be," Toni says
"Bye," He says giving a taunting laugh and wavce
"See you in hell!" Madi says waving back and laughing at him
"Come on kait show us where the bathroom is, our food is getting cold," She says turning and facing kait
And just like that, they turn and walk away. Toni stands there shocked. We turn and sit in our booth.
"Good news, our new kids already have pyschopaths after them," Toni says
"Must run inthe family," Alice says
"How is Madi more badass than Cheryl?" Sweetpea jokes
"Your hilarious PodPea," I say back
"I'm impressed," Fangs said "Last time we saw Malachai, I ran away and Jug hid behind a trash can, she just stood up and told him to back off,"
"I thought both of tehm were really shy, I guess not," FP jokes
"I think Madi is just really protective," Toni says
"I want to here the Dylan story," Jughead says "sounds intense,"
"Ya i'll ask when they get back," Toni says
The girls come out of the bathroom laughing and KT is on Madi's back. Madi sets her down when they get to the table.
"Thanks Madi,"
"No problem Kid,"
"Wait KT can you tell them apart?" Fangs asks
"Uh, ya, its kinda obvious who's who," She says
"Ya we really don't look that much a like," Alex says
"Whatever you say," Sweetpea says rolling his eyes
We start eating and then Toni asks Madi.
"Who is Dylan?"
"Alex's dick of an ex boyfriend," She says rolling her eyes
"I didn't even like him, I told you that Madi, he said that if I did what he said he wouldnt let his dad hurt you,"
"Right, whatever Alex, and I told you I could handle his dad. Anyways, he tried to touch Alex in an inapproriate way one day in a school bathroom and she told him to stop, then I told him to stop. I jumped in front of Alex and punched him square in the eye, swelled up instantly, he still can't see out of it then i kicked him in the groin and we went to the guidance counsellor. Then Malachai or whatever his real name is saw me in the parking lot and tried to cut me and take Alex, I punched him in the nose and broke it,"
"He did cut you, you had to go to the emergency room," Alex says
Madi rolls up her shirt to reveal a scar from above the bottom of her ribcage to across her bellybutton. It looked deep.
"Barely Lex," She says rolling her eyes
"How long ago was this?" Toni asks unfazed by what she says
"End of grade 7," She shrugs "so this past summer,"
"Ok,"
"Toni you dont seem disgusted by this," I snap
"Of course I'm angry but I was stabbed for the first time Sepetember of grade 8 so as long as she's fine,"
"Wow Toni your hilarious," I say
"Exactly, see Lex, stab wounds heal just look at Toni," Madi says
"Please don't make getting stabbed a habit," ALex says rolling her eyes
"I agree with Alex," I say
"Don't make it a habit but shit happens," Toni says high fiving Madi
"Toni..." I say
"Joking Cher," She says grabbing my hand
"Babe we should go to the docks," I say
"Ok, KT did you bring the ball?" She asks
"Yep!"
"Ok lets go"
"Tiny, want to drive the 'cycle?" Fangs asks
"Ya, for sure you go with Cher,"
"K"
"Girls, do one of you want to come with me?" Toni asks
"ME!" MAdi says
"Sounds good,"
She gives Madi a helmet.
"See you there Babe," she says giving me a kiss
"Be safe, nothing dumb Antoniette,"
"Never," She teases
"I beg to differ,"
"You're cute, see you there," She says kissing me one more time and getting on Fangs bike and driving off
We follow her to the docks. We get out and sit down on the grass while the girls go snd throw the football.
We sit there for just over an hour when I hear a car pull up and someone walks down the path.
"Oh this is just rich," Toni shakes her head and gets up
I see a familiar figure walking down the path.
"What did the people of hell convention get moved from Florida?" She says
"Be nice to your mother,"
"If only I didn't get emancipated, then maybe I would have a mother to be nice to,"
"I told you I'd be back,"
"Ya you said the 17 years ago too, so I thought you would be dead before you got around to it,"
"Look who I brought," She says ushering to the other side of Toni, "Jacob, your boyfriend,"
"What drugs are you on?" She says "I'm married to Cheryl, we discussed this last time you crawled up from the sewers,"
"Well, now you're being so bad, Jacob will have to punish you," Linda says
Toni finally looks to her side.
"I am going no where with you and Malachai," She rolls her eyes
"Oh, but you will reconsider,"
Just as she says that we hear screaming from the lake side, 2 people tried to grab KT but Madi fought them off and they a hold of her arms.
"You can come with us or she can come with us,"
"Fine, I'll go but all 3 of my kids have to be with Cheryl, now!"
She whistles and they let go of Madi.
The man orders them to come to me and they all come running. Alex and Kait stop at me, but Madi steps in front of me.
"Let her go Malachai, and who ever the hell you are,"
The boys are also surronding me Kait and Alex now.
"Well, I'm her mother. And who are you?" Linda says
"Her daughter, Madi," She says snarkly
"Awe isn't that cute? Today was the adoption wasn't it?"
"Yes," Madi says starting to lose her cool
"Do you love Toni? Because Jacob does,"
Madi stutters ion the word love.
"Uh. I... i, I'm not sure, I do know that I'm grateful for what she did for me and my sister. I don't want to grow up not knowing your daughter. I have enough respect for her to know this isn't whats best for her,"
"Well that was heartfelt, but unfortunately there is no way she loves you or ever will. Her and Jacob have no children,"
"MOTHER, I AM NOT DATING MALACHAI, I HAVE A WIFE AND THREE KIDS,"
They hooked their arms around Toni's arms and tried to pull her away.
"Just, just, let me say. Goodbye," She says with a tear rolling down her cheek
"One minute,"
I know Toni, these are fake tears, she must have a plan. She hugs each of the stooges and FP I can tell she whispered something in their ear. She turns and hugs KT, and gives Madi and Alex a high five.
"Be good for your mom ok girls, Madi, don't do anything dumb ok? Just protect you sisters," She gives Madi and Alex a wink and then nods to KT.
She looks at me last and now real tears are rolling down her cheek. She pulls me in for a hug.
"I love you babe, I always have and always will. If something happens please remember that ok?"
I pull away and look at her. I wipe one of her tears
"TT don't go, I need you here. We were just happy again, you're finally doing better after V and Kait after the accident. Babe what if she forgets you,"
"Cher it'll be fine find someone better than me like everyone always said you could, I don't deserve you,"
We kiss and it really feels like the first time and last time, at the same time. Like we both know something might happen that we can never repair.
"Goodbye Cheryl," She says grabbing my hand and dropping it and walking back to her mother.
She reaches her mother and the three ghoulies and before she does anything she turns her head to face me and smirks. Just as she turns to her mother who is welcoming her in to a hug, she punches her mother square in the face. The boys start running towards her. The ghoulies have Toni pinned to the ground and Linda is dazed to the side. MAdi looks like she is about to go help.
"Madi, stay with your sisters, remember what Toni said." I say
She nods and backs off. I start half running to where everyone is fighting, the boys got the ghoulies off Toni and she's just lying there. Before I get there Malachai and the other ghoulies break free. Grab Linda off the ground and run away. The boys are about to run after them.
"Leave them," Toni says weakly from the ground, trying to sit up "They won't come back,"
They stop and join me on the ground beside her. She is on her side looking there way practically unaware I was kneeling beside her.
"Toni, punching your mother wasn't in the game plan." Sweetpea says out of breath
"Ya but it was hella worth it," she says rolling further onto her side and coughing. "Cheryl, where's Cheryl? Is she upset? Shit I suck at being a wife,"
She finds the strength to sit up.
"Baby, I'm right here," I say putting my hand on her leg
Her eyes perk up right away.
"I'm so sorry Cheryl, I needed your reaction to be genuine. I'm so sorry, I love you so much," She says with tears rolling down her face
"TT, its ok, I knew you had a plan," I say wiping her tears off her cheek "and never say your a bad wife, you're an amazing wife and mother ok? I love you so much,"
"I love you too Cheryl," She says pulling me into a hug
We pull back.
"Do you think your able to stand?" I ask
She nods and slowly gets up.
"Where are the girls?" She panics
"I think they're over here," I say helping her walk over to the tree line
"Girls? It's me Toni, you guys can come out," She calls out as loud as she can, which doesnt come out very loud
I see KT peak her head out from a tree and smile. She turns and nods to the girls behind her and they walk towards us.
"Are you ok?" Alex asks
"I'll be fine," Toni replies with a weak smile
"Girls why don't we go sit down, you guys need to know everything," I say
We walk to the picnic table, I'm practically walking for Toni anyways so I pick her up about half way there.We all sit down.
"Ok, for starters, we are a part of something called the Riverdale 4, which is composed of the Jones, The coopers, The Blossoms, and the Mantles, there were some attacks that went on and our families all helped put Riverdale back together. Some of our high school friends don't like that they weren't included so they hate us, that's why KT was beat up and has memory issues now." I say
"Then after we adopted KT, we learned she witnessed a murder in Montreal, and had two enemies based on that alone. Those enimes were also our old friend's dad and boyfriend, this friend also hurt me pretty bad," Toni says
We tell them everything that has to do with KT and our enemies and then stop talking.
"Cool I thought life was going to be boring in this town," Madi says unfazed
"Atleast everyone   will know who we are so they might leave us alone," Alex says a little shaken
"OH and the other thing, Cheryl has breast and lung cancer but she is really close to remission so don't worry," To ni says putting her hand on my thigh.
We decide its  time to go home and earlier we decided the boys were all gunna move into Thistlehouse so they were on the property in case something happened. Madi was quiet the whole way home and when we got home went straight to her room. KT went with Jughead to go to the grocery store so it was just us and the twins. Madi still hasn't come downstairs or talked since the docks. Toni is laying on my lap while I pick rocks and sticks out of her hair.
"Do you think Madi is ok?" I ask her "I mean Alex talked more than her since the docks,"
"Maybe she was just overwhelmed or tired, who know Cher," She says falling asleep
We sit there for a few minutes before Alex comes down and knocks on the living room door.
"May I come in?" She asks
"Of course, whats up?" Toni asks
"I just wanted to tell you something about Madi,"
"What?" I ask
"Our birth mother wasn't really nice, abusive, drug addict, you know the same story as 90% of our orphanage had the same story, but we didn't really care,  we were like 5 years old, she said 'I love you' to her and then 5 hours later our mother overdosed in a bathtub and drowned to death. Then she said it to me once after that and I got hit by a car around 10 minutes later so she thinks she's cursed, that's why she stumbled today at the word love," She says "the only person that really cared about us other than each other during our childhood was a lady name Ms. Tepic. Last year Ms. Tepic died because of breast cancer, so I think my sister didn't want another person she cared about to die, so she tries not to care,"
"How are you doing with all of thisAlex?" I ask thinking she went through the same
"I got to talk over my problems in therapy, I opened up and got closure. Madi is built different, she thinks if she opens up to someone they will die. If I'm being completely honest, she said she was grateful for you and that she respected you that's more than I've heard her said about anyone since our birth mother, and again she said that when she was 5, so I think you guys are good for her,"
"Alex can you see if your sister will come down?" Toni asks "Tell her I want to go for a walk,"
"I'll ask, but who knows with her. OH and I'm really sorry if she put a hole in your wall, she is very mad at herself,"
She leaves.
"Sounds like Madi is just as stubborn as you," I say moving Toni off my lap
"Ya," She laughs "Do you think I could walk with Madi alone? I think I could get through to her, I just don't want to overwhelm her,"
"For sure babe," I kiss her on the cheek and I turn to see Madi at the bottom of the stairs "Go, I'll stay with Alex,"
