Remember

TONI's POV
"Yep,"
We get to KT's room.
"Hey Toni!" She says excitedly "what took you so long?"
"Kait I've been gone for 5 minutes," I joke
"Really? You weren't here when I woke up,"
"Yes I was, you might be confused, it's ok,"
I sit down on the chair beside her bed and pull Cheryl onto my lap.
"Remember who this is?"
"She's my mom?" She says cautiously
"That's right, Remember her name?"
She shakes her head and gives Cher a shy smile.
"Cheryl," I remind her
"Right! She was the red head in the story!"
"That was just a story, Aunt Betty and Uncle Jughead didn't shoot a gun at Mommy, that was Hiram and Archie,"
"Whatever you say, but I think your wrong," She says
"I know you do," I say rustling her hair
"So Cheryl, do you have any stories?" She asks
"Yes I have stories," she smiles "what do you want to hear?"
"How did you and Toni meet?" She asked smiling at Cher
"Well, Toni and i were at the same car race, and she wanted to be the one to do the honours of starting the race but I decided I should start the race instead."
"What was the first thing you said to each other?"
"Well, I said 'Uh I usually do the honours' and CHer turned around and said 'Not today Cha-Cha, I was born for this moment."
She laughs.
"Do you want to see your uncles?"
"I have uncles?" She asked confused
"Remember K, Sweetpea, Fangs, and Jughead," I say
"I don't remember but they can come in here," She says
"Ok, I'll go get them," I say shifting Cheryl off my lap "Be right back babe,"
I kiss her cheek and walk out of the room. I walk down the hall and grab the boys.
"Do you guys want to come see KT?"
"Uh, dumb question Tiny, YES," Fangs says enthusiastically
"Even me and Betty?" Jughead asks
"Yes you two are coming but heads up she doesn't remember the child beating her up scenario, she thinks you tried to shoot Cheryl," I say laughing
"What why would she think that?" Betty asks
"I think shes getting you two and Hiram and Archie mixed up in that story, I keep reminding her and Cher is too,"
"Ok no problem, we'll figure it out," Jughead says
"Ok lets go,"
We get to KT's room and I pause for a second to look and Cher and KT laughing and joking around.
"Hey KT, Remember your uncles?" I say calmly
"I remember all of them have weird names," She says
"Thats right, do you remember their names?"
"JHughead tried to shoot Cheryl," She says looking at jughead
"Buddy, we talked about this it was Hiram and Archie," Cher says
"Right, that's what you're telling me," She says
"Do you remember the other two names," I ask
"FANGS!" She says really happy with herself
"That's right!" Cher says squeezing her hand
"And the last one?"
"PodPea?" She asks unsure
We all laugh.
"Really close sweetie, its Sweetpea," I say sitting down on Cheryls lap
"Thats funny," SHe says laughing
"Wait they're my uncles?" She asks
"Ya why?" Cheryl asks
"Because you only have one brother that died, so they're all related to you?" She asks
"Kind of, we were all technically adopted by the same dad, just not a signed legal adoption." Fangs says
"Ok that's cool," She says and then turns to Cheryl "I'm sorry about Uncle Jason, I didn't mean to bring him in with me."
"What do you mean?" Cheryl asks confused
"I dragged him in the water and he died on the riverbank," She says confused about our confusion
"Kait, that was me and I didn't die, I just forgot to breathe for a bit," I say
"Darn it," She says "I really am trying to remember but I just can't,"
"It's ok KT we get it,"
We laugh and talk until KT falls asleep, by this time its 8 am and we've been awake for 24 hours straight practically. The doctor said KT was stable and will stay like that but she must stay in the hospital for at least a month. We could go home and sleep because she wouldn't wake up for a few hours. We leave and plan to meet the boys at Pops at 1. We get to Thistlehouse and went into the kitchen so Cher could make us coffee.
"You want to hear the conversation I had with KT when you went to get the boys?" She asks putting the coffee in.
"Sure,"
"You walked out and said she really liked your pink hair, and that we were both really pretty,"
"Well at least we raised an honest kid," I say wrapping my arms around her waist from behind her
"Oh?" She smirks "Well I know I'm pretty but..."
"Uh! Cheryl," I say losing my grip and acting hurt
"You didn't let me finish, but you're beautiful,"
"You're beautiful," I say kissing her cheek
I nuzzle my head into her neck
"I love you Cheryl,"
"I love you too Toni,"
We drink our coffee and then go to the den to watch TV. I lie down and turn on Greys Anatomy, CHeryl lays down on top of me and falls asleep almost instantly. I play with her hair while watching the TV. A few hours pass and Cheryl is still sleeping and I've watched a lot of TV. It's 12:30 so I wake Cheryl up.
"Baby, time to wake up," I say kissing her on the cheek
"Mhm? How long did I sleep?" She asks nestling her head further into my neck
"About 4 hours,"
"TT, did you sleep?"
"Nope, I'm not tired,"
"Babe," She says disapprovingly "You need to sleep,"
"Nope, I don't,"
"Whatever," 
I drive the motorcycle to Pops, its a great feeling, Cheryl has been on the back of my bike in a long time. Ive missed having her arms around my waist.
We get to Pops and talk until we get back to the hospital.
