Christmas Day
Cheryl goes all out for Christmas. I've dealt with it for years now but this year with all 3 kids- this is bigger than ever. And this year she made it a surprise. We didnt even have a tree until 2 days ago and there was like 4 presents under the tree. To be honest I don't think the girls even noticed the tree, Well the twins definitely did not notice at all neither of them have even mentioned Christmas.
"Cheryl this is too much," I say as we look at the tree which can barely be seen through all the presents
"No its not," She argues
"We ran out of wrapping paper and had to use happy birthday paper," I say rolling my eyes
"Thats because you don't follow instructions," She says leaving towards the kitchen.
My casts and bandages were taken off last week but I'm still in some pain so like I'm slower than her getting to the kitchen. I wrap my arms around her waist from behind her as she pours hot chocolate for the 5 of us.
"But Merry Christmas baby-girl," I say kissing her cheek
"Merry Christmas TT," She smiles picking up three of the mugs and ushering me to pick up the other 2
We hearing running footsteps upstairs.
"The girls are up," She smiles putting the hot chocolate down
"Girlies come down!" I yell as Cheryl sits down beside me
They all come running down the stairs and into the room. Kait first followed by the twins. Kait's eyes light up and she immediately sits beside the tree.
"Madi why the hell did you tell them? We agreed not to!" Alex says annoyed at her sister
"I told you they would figure it out Lex! It's not exactly a secret they're our parents," Madi says throwing her hands in the air
"Um sorry to interrupt this riveting argument about how Toni and I knew about Christmas but it falls on the same day every year," Cheryl says laughing
"We knew that." Madi says "And you don't have to act dumb its fine Alex is over reacting of course you two knew- you probably have our birth certificates, or at least read our passports,"
"I was talking about our birthday," Alex says rolling her eyes "Obviously Madi couldn't keep her mouth shut for another week until it was irrelevant,"
"What, why didnt you say anything?" I say confused
"you didnt know?" Alex asks
"No, we thought they said your birthday was in January-February area," Cheryl said
"Babe they said winter, we are so dumb," I say shaking my head
"Wait if you didnt know why is there birthday presents here?" Madi asks pointing at the wrapping paper
"Because Toni cant follow instructions<" CHeryl rolls her eyes
"I got 10 packages of wrapping paper,"
"Still wasn't enough,"
"Happy birthday Madi, Happy birthday Alex," Kait says from the floor
"Thanks Kait," They both say hugging her
"Happy birthday girls, sorry we're really dumb and didnt actually check," Cheryl says
"Its fine we didnt want you to find out anyways," Alex shrugs
We didnt know how to reply.
"Lets start opening presents because we're going to the Wyrm later right?" Madi says changing the subject
"Yay!" Kait says
We all open our presents until there is no more left.
"Thanks Moms, this is the best Christmas ever," MAdi says
Alex and kait agree
"Go upstairs and change I need to talk to Toni ok?"
"OK!"
They run up stairs and Cheryl pulls out 2 red velvet boxes, one smaller and one larger.
"Cheryl wha-"
"Just listen," She cuts me off "I know that since you proposed to me, you didn't get a engagement ring and that your always looking at engagement rings so I decided today was the perfect day to give it to you."
She opens the box to reveal an identical rose gold engagement ring to hers.
"Cher I love it so much,"  I squeal taking it from the box and examining it
"I also sent both mine and yours to be engraved on the inside," She say pointing to the freshly engraved quote
'Til death due us part- and an eternity after that
"Cher I love this so much thank you," I say giving her a hug
"And then i got you this,"
She pulls out a rose gold engraved necklace.
Sensational
"Baby this is perfect," I say holding it "I got you something too,"
I Pull out the watch I bought her right after I got back from Montreal.
"Toni! You did not!?" She says excitedly "How did you pull this off?"
I called one of Cheryls contacts in Canada to make her a one of a kind red Michele Hybrid watch with real diamonds on the sides of the glass.
"I made some calls," I say hugging her
"Tones I love it so much thank you,"
"Anything for you babe, can you put on my necklace for me?" I ask
"Of course I can," she says taking the necklace
She clasps it just as the girls come downstairs.
"Did you say there was lunch at this thing cuz I'm starving," Alex says
"Yes lets all get in the car," I say getting up and putting my jacket on "Oh and everyone grab their jackets I dont want anyone getting hurt today,"
We pile in the car and Cheryl drives down to the Whyte Wyrme- speeding the whole way.
"Hey Scarlett Speedster you can chill on the gas pedal," I tease as we get out of the car
"I'm a Blossom, the speed limit doesnt apply to me," She says sassily
The girls run up to the bar as I grab Cher's hand.
"Thats not all true, you know... the speed limit doesn't apply to you correct but your a Topaz-Blossom,"
"Oh right that makes me even more badass, because I share a last name with the best wife and mother in the whole world,"
"Cher we lost best mothers when we didnt know it was 2 of our kids birthdays today,"
"True, why are we such idiots,"
"I'm not sure,"
We walk into the bar and see everyone sitting on the bar stools.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Betty says running over and hugging us
"Merry Christmas Betty," Cheryl says laughing
"Someone's in a good mood," I say laughing
"Well Juggie finally legitimately proposed!" She says excited
"Awe congrats," Cheryl squeals
"About time Jughead," I say giving him a high five
"I know, I know, I heard that from my dad too," He says laughing
The girls run off to play and we keep talking.
"Fangs your gunna laugh your ass off at this, last night we ran out of  wrapping paper and so CHeryl just used Happy birthday wrapping paper," I start as Fangs bursts out laughing
"Tiny that wasn't that funny," Sweetpea says
"That wasn't even the funny part," I say laughing
"Madi and Alex come downstairs, see the wrapping paper and start yelling at each other because they thought the other told us it was their birthday today," I say half laughing but crying inside
"No, your kidding," Jughead says almost falling off his stool
"Nope, and they didnt want us to find out for some reason and Toni and I just never looked at their birth certificate," Cheryl says
"Thats so bad," Sweetpea says laughing his ass off
"Shut it," i laugh
"You have got to be shitting me right now, seriously again?" I hear MAdi say from behind us
There stood MAlachai with a younger boy standing beside him. I begin to walk over.
"Well I just wanted to giv étouffe a birthday present Lexi, why dont you tell the bitch to step down and not interrupt our fun like the last time," The boy says smirking and trying to pull Alex towards him
"Oh you mean the present that would always send Alex home crying with bruises all over her body?" Madi says pushing the boy
Cher and I step in between the kids and Malachai as Madi hugs Alex.
"Malachai what the actual hell are you doing in serpent territory?" I ask him
"WHy my son wanted to see his girlfriend who just happened to be your daughter and give her what shes been missing," He says
"Thats gross," Cher says "please leave, and dont come back,"
We continue arguing with Malachai and we don't even notice his son slip away.
"Babe where's the boy- ALEX?" Cher says panicked
Alex was right behind us with MAdi still
"Phew," Cher says relieved
"Madi, Alex Where's your sister?" I ask
"She was right-" Alex starts
"Did she go see Uncle Fangs?" Madi asks
Just as we were panicking we heard a blood curdling scream from the bathroom- but it wasn't KT's voice, it was the boys voice. We all run towards the bathroom and find KT holding a switchblade and Dylan with one slash around his wrist area and another near where his waistline. He had his pants down around his ankle and KT's shirt was ripped pretty badly.
"Why are you such a dick?" MAdi says swinging her fist at his face and knocking him out cold
"Kait are you ok??" Alex asks bending down to her level
"I didnt mean to hurt him, just scare him because he was scaring me, but he got really close and I just reacted." She says hugging Alex "Don't be mad mummy please, I really didnt mean to,"
"Kiddo I know you didnt mean to ok? He just scared you, but where did you get the knife?"
I found it on the ground and I was coming to give it to you when he covered my mouth and started walking towards the bathroom,"
"Can I see it?" Cheryl asks
She hands Cher the blade.
"Its Fangs' blade," She says "Why does he always drop the damn thing?"
Malachai grabs Dylan and huffs off outside.
"Kait are you ok?" MAdi asks
She wipes her tears
"I'm fine, nothing that hasn't happened before,"
We leave the bathroom and Cher hands Fangs his blade back.
"I would yell at you for leaving your blade lying around but it did save KT so just clean it up bro," I say
"Yes ma'am,"Fangs says going to find the cleaning supplies
We all talk until we decide to go home and get ready for dinner.
"Toni can we take a walk?" Madi asks
"Ya sure, grab a jacket its cold,"
We start walking and I ask her what's wrong
"I wanted to talk about Dylan, and you're ex-friend Veronica " She says looking at the ground
Now I'm confused
"When i was 6 Malachai, Dylans dad raped me. My foster mom knew Malachai and needed to impress him or something so he wanted Alex but I didn't let that happen," SHe said crying "The only reason Alex found out was because Dylan told her and said his dad would do it again unless she did dated him. After the incident involving Dylan and Alex in a school bathroom, I learned about Veronica and how her and Malachai were working together. Veronica cornered me one day when i was sitting on a bench and tells me to follow her. She beat me up pretty bad and told me if she ever saw me again she would kill me."
"You never told Alex that did you? She didnt know Veronica but I thought you recognized her,"
"No Alex doesnt know," She says calming down "She really just thinks Malachai beat me up to be honest, Dylan just told her that his dad hurt me,"
"Madi I'm so sorry,"
"Its ok, Ive dealt with it myself, found peace, I guess anyways,"
"I dont know what your going through but I have seen it second hand, do you get nightmares?"
"Some days... how did you know?"
"Cheryl was almost assaulted by someone and she gets nightmares sometimes still,"
"Your face? Is that what happened?"
"Ya she was thrashing and hit me,"
"I dont get them too often but I still get them,"
"If you ever do you can come down to my room, ok?"
"Ok"
We walk back and celebrate our first Christmas as a family.
