Just Fine

This chapter changes between Cheryl Alex and Madi a bit so just watch to make sure it makes sense.
Cheryls POV
"How is She?" I ask standing up
"The first bullet did not hit any major blood vessels or organs and was extracted with no problems, the second bullet however hit her liver, we stopped the bleeding but without a donor her liver will fail and she will die," she says "I'm sure you know that Ms. topaz has Type B blood so although tons of donors come in every month she is not very high on the list and in my personal opinion does not have that kind of time,"
"How much time?" I ask
"In my professional opinion, she needs a liver in the next 48 hours," she replies "does Antoinette have any living relatives? Directed donation is an option,"
"No they're all either dead or better off dead," I say glumly "Mads can you ask the boys their blood types?"
"And I will look around for people as well," the surgeon ensures
"What room is She in?"
"Room 194, ICU, only 1 person at a time," she replies
"Thank you for everything,"
"Just doing my job ma'am,"

Madi's POV

I wait until Cheryl leaves to go Toni's room and is out of view before going to her doctor
"Excuse me doctor?" I say catching up to Toni's surgeon
"Hi how can I help you?" She asks sweetly
"I'm Toni Topaz's daughter," I say "how old do you have to be to do a direct donation,"
"15 with parents consent," She replies
Fuck. Cheryl would never let me do this.
"What if my uncle signed the form instead? I don't want to bother my mom," I say sweetly
"Are you a biological daughter?" She asks "not that it matters for the form"
"No adopted,"
"Any adult can sign the form, can I take your blood quickly to cross match,"
"Does doctor patient confidentiality laws apply to if my mom asks who is donating the organ," I ask
"Not specifically," She says "the only way I can disclose your name is if she asks me directly using your name or a general term for you such as 'my daughter,' or 'one of my kids', then I have to disclose because you're under 18,"
"perfect thanks," I reply
She draws my blood and hands me the form.
Now which uncle/person to trick?
Not Jughead he looks too far into things and analyzes stuff.
Not Sweetpea, he's too protective
Reggie wouldn't sign, he would give it to Cheryl
Probably Not FP, he would sign the form but tell Cheryl
As for the girls? Alice and Betty would shut this down faster than anyone.
I guess that leaves fangs, who is conveniently walking down the hall towards me.
"Uncle fangs," I yell
"Hey Mads, what's up?"
"I need you to sign this form, so that me and the girls can go in and see Toni,"
"For sure kiddo,"
I hand him the pen and he signs each form with out reading them.
"Thanks for your help uncle fangs!" I say waving at him "I need to get this to the doctor,"
"Glad to have helped Madi!" He says going into the bathroom.
Perfect.

Cheryls POV

I make it to Toni's room and walk in to see her strapped to a whole bunch of machines, she was broken but alive nonetheless.
"Oh Toni, how many times am I going to hold your hand in a hospital bed?" I Half laugh
I grab her hand and brush her hair out of her eyes.
"I love you Toni Topaz," I laugh "you are literally my soulmate, and my best friend and we have some killer kids. You know Madi just wiped my tears, if you saw that you would've been proud of her and then make fun me for being so soft. These girls love you more than anything Tones," I start crying
I sit there for a bit watching the monitors and playing with her rings when the surgeon comes back in.
"We found a donor for Toni," she says
"Really?" I ask "so soon,"
"Yes it is a miracle, a nurse will be in shortly to bring her in to surgery,"
"Do you know where my family is?" I ask
"Same waiting room."She replies
She leave to prep for the surgery and I squeeze Toni's hand.
"You'll do great my love," I smile kissing her forehead "the nurses are hear baby, I have to go,"
I leave and Thank god for who ever directed there liver at Toni.

Madi's POV

"ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY INSANE?" Alex whisper yells at me "HAVING A SURGERY AND NOT TELLING CHERYL?"
"Correction; saving Toni's life without telling Cheryl," I say back "and keep your voice down,"
"This might be the craziest thing you've ever done," she says rolling her eyes "what do I need to do,"
"Cheryl can stop the surgery as long as they haven't disconnected my liver, so distract her, send an uncle away and tell her I went with them, she's distracted anyways, give me 3 hours and I'll be off the table and then you can tell her,"
"How did you even get permission for this?" She asks
"I tricked fangs,"
"Of course you did,"
"I have to go, I love you Alex,"
"I love you too Madi," She says hugging me "good luck, don't die,"
"Never Alex," I say hugging her back "see ya on the flip side,"
She laughs and I head off to get ready for surgery.

1 hours later
ALEXS POV
After an hour I tell Jughead to go pick up burgers and ask pop to stall him as long as possible.
"Where is Madi?" Cheryl asks
"With Jughead," I reply quickly
"Oh ok," she replies suspiciously
"Can I take Tony?" I ask
"Sure Sweetie,"
I take TJ from her arms leaving her with just Owen.

2 hours into the surgery
Jughead will be back any minute and I need a new plan.
"Mom I think you need to change TJ's diaper," I say
"Ok give him to me," She says and takes the boys to the bathroom
Jughead walks in just after that and sits down. Cheryl comes back a few minutes later.
"Where's Madi?"
"Oh you must've just passed her she went to the bathroom," I say
She looks at me suspiciously before grabbing a burger to eat.
"She's been gone an awful long time," Cheryl says after a few minutes
"She was really sick to her stomach,"
"Maybe I should go check on her," she says
"No, you don't want to get sick too, you won't be able to see mom,"

15 minutes later
Cheryls POV
ALMOST END OF SURGERY

Alex gets up to leave and I'm officially done.
"Where are you going?" I ask
"To find Madi she's been in the bathroom forever now,"
"You're lying, kiddo I invented excuses like this, sending Jughead away very clever, bathroom, perfect excuse for her being sick," I say "where did she go,"
"Give the babies to Fangs," she sighs "wait not fangs um Betty and Alice,"
"Ok?" I say handing the boys to Betty and Alice
"Madisyn is in surgery,"
"What?" I ask
"She is the liver donor," she says
"How is that even possible, she's not even 16,"
"She tricked someone into signing a form,"
"Which one of you dumbasses signed a form Madi gave you?" I ask the boys
"I signed one saying she and the girls could go see Toni," Fangs says
"And did you read these papers?" I ask
"No I really had to pee and there were a lot of them," he says
"You're a dumbass,"
Fangs nods.
"And how do you know about this Alex?" I ask
"She told me, to keep you off her track for 3 hours before the surgery was over," she says looking at her hands
""And you listened,"
"Have you met Madi? I tried to talk her out of it, but she heard what the doctor said,"
"Your sister will be the death of me one of these days," I Half laugh sitting back down "why didn't she tell me?"
"She thought you would say no,"
"Damn straight I would've,"
"Exactly,"
"Toni is going to kill me, your mother is going to kill me for letting this happen, after she strangles Fangs for being dumb." I say
Sweetpea FP Alice Betty and Jughead havent been listening so I fill them in.
"Guess Who the donor was guys?"
"Who?" Jughead asks
"Madisyn,"
"As in your Madisyn? As in Madi Topaz Blossom?" Sweetpea asks
"Yes as in my dumbass daughter," I say
"How?" Alice asks
"Fangs was tricked into signing the form," I say rolling my eyes
"Mrs. Topaz, Toni is out of surgery and is doing very well," the doctor says "she might even wake up within the next few hours,"
"And Madi?" I ask
"Madi is receiving in same room, she did amazing, no worries with her recovery at all.
The doctor leaves and Alex hugs me,
"I'm sorry I lied mom, I was scared, Madi made it seem really bad,"
"It's ok Alex, I'm going to ream your sister for doing this though,"
"So will I," She laughs
"Lets go see them," I smile
She nods and I hope and pray both my girls are just fine
