By the way, a couple people said my math doesn't make sense with their ages or anything but like whoops 😬 + you watch Riverdale and 90% of their storyline don't make sense either 🤷🏼‍♀️
Cheryl's POV
"Moms we're leaving!!" Madi yells
"Wait up a second!" Toni yells back
We go downstairs and hug them.
"Be good for your mom ok?"
"we will, don't worry," Alex says
"We'll see you tonight," Tay adds
"Ok,"
All the girls leave and I start crying.
"Cher.." Toni says hugging me
"I can't do it," I say
"Yes you can babe," she says kissing my temple
I calm down and we go finish help the boys get ready.
"Momma Why are you sad?" Owen asks
"Just stressed out buddy, I'm ok,"
"Oh,"
We put on their shoes and head off to school.
"Ok boys, momma isn't going to be home for dinner tonight, ok? I'm going to the hospital,"
"You're not coming home?"
"No buddy I have to stay away for a while,"
"But we are going to visit her after school,"
"Oh ok,"
"And make sure it's either me or Tay ok? No talking to strangers,"
"Ok mommy,"
"See you later boys," Toni says turning around and kissing their cheeks
"Bye mommies," they say getting out
We watch them walk into the school. Both of them refuse to go to school in anything other than a dress shirt and tie. TJ likes bow ties and Owen likes regular ties, both of them either wear khakis or dress pants.
"When are they going to grow out of the tie phase?" Toni asks
"Hopefully never, they have better style than you," I say
"You're very funny,"
I drive to the hospital and park.
"I can go in alone babe," I say
"No you can't!" She says almost offended
"If you still want to pick up Gladys-"
"No, I'm fine babe!" She says
We get out, check in and I change into the hospital gown and lie on the bed.
"Ready babe?" She asks
"Mhm,"
She gets a call.
"Already?" She sighs
"Ya ya, Fine I'll be at Pops in 15,"
"Bye Bye Pea," She says hanging up
"You gotta go?" I ask
"Unfortunately, but I'll be back after I pick the kids up,"
"Ok, don't rush, I'll be here," I say
"Bye babe, I love you, call me,"
"I love you too, I will,"
She leaves and the doctor starts the chemo drip.

Toni's POV
I hate having to leave her. But there's nothing I can do. I get in the car and drive to Pops. But it's Gladys, and I have to. She practically raised me into the person I am.
"Hey Topaz," Gladys says hugging me
"Hey Gladys sorry I'm late,"
"No no it's fine sweetie," she says "I heard times have been tough,"
"Ya a little,"
"Serpents staying afloat yet?"
"Who told you we weren't?"
"Jughead,"
"Jughead lied because we are all fine,"
"Then what's been tough,"
"Oh uh my wife has cancer and it's going to be hard to help my kids through it,"
"Times really have changed Topaz, who knew you were going to have kids? How many again?"
"6," I laugh
"This is why I have to get a cellphone!" She laughs "aren't you a little young for 6 kids?"
"We adopted our first almost 7 years ago now," I say "and we adopted 4 total and then Cher had twin boys. I wish we could've kept in touch, you missed a lot and I missed you. But did the mission go well? Did you get it?"
"After 10 years, we got it Toni,"
"Good,"
"But before all the work talk, tell me more about your life now, what's changed?"
"I have 4 daughters and 2 sons, Madi and Alex are about to graduate high school, Kait and Tay are 12 but they're sophomores this years because they're both exceptionally smart, the boys just started kindergarten. Cher and I are doing amazing, we've been married twice because of a stunt the ghoulies pulled."
"Did I hear you were kidnapped?"
"Yep and so was my oldest daughter Alex. What else?"
"Lodge. Is she still messing around?"
"That's right you didn't hear about that! I sent Veronica to jail on rape charges,"
"I didn't hear, I'm so sorry,"
"It was a long time ago now,"
"So your girls, are they serpents?"
"For protection I gave them jackets but Alex and the younger girls aren't really into it- Madi likes it though,"
"And you said Cheryl has cancer?"
"Ya unfortunately, she was in remission for 6 years and they re diagnosed it recently,"
"I'm so sorry, I should've been here for you,"
"No no that mission is so important to everyone," I say "it's going help a ton,"
"I hope so,"
"So you staying in town for a while? We can get you a place,"
"Really? That would be nice. I wanted to stay for a long time, maybe meet my grandchildren?"
"Of course! They'll like you,"
"What are their names again?"
I pull a photo of them out.
"The oldest are Alex and Madi, the middle are Kate and Tayleigh, and the boys are Tony Jace and Owen,"
They're all beautiful,"
I laugh. We talk for a while.
"I have to go pick the kids up but if you wait here I'll bring them here?" I say
"Sounds good,"
"Oh and I'll send Sweetpea over, can you fill him in on the basics of your mission?"
"For sure,"
"Thank you,"
I call Pea and tell him to go to the restaurant and drive to the high school first.
"Hey mom," madi says
"Hey, Girlies, we have to get your brothers so hurry up,"
They all get in the car.
"How's mom doing?" Alex asks
"She's ok, I talked to her earlier, she's tired,"
"Are we getting to go see her after we pick up the boys?" Kate asks
"Actually, not right away," I say "Someone just came into town that I want you to meet them,"
"Who?" Tay asks
"The woman who raised me,"
"Oh so we finally get to meet who made you... like that," madi laughs
"She is responsible for my awesomeness!"
"Mhm sure," madi says
I get to the elementary school and the boys are already outside.
"Hey boys," I say as they climb in the car
"Hi mommy," tj says
"Hi,"
"What's wrong?" Alex asks
"We miss momma,"
"Ya So do we," Kate says putting Owens seatbelt on
"Do we get to see momma now?" He asks
"Not yet buddy, you're going to meet your grandmother,"
"Momma said grandma is mean,"
"Was she talking about grandma Penelope?"
"Ya!" TJ says
"Grandma Penelope is mean, this is grandma Gladys and Gladys is really nice,"
"Oh ok,"
"Why do we meet Gladys?"
Every time I say we are doing something- TJ has to ask why.
"Because she's important to mommy and she just came back home,"
"Oh," he says
I laugh as we pull into Pops.
"Alrighty," I say "Lets go,"
"Mommy I'm tired," Owen says
"I'll carry you baby boy," I say
"Mommy I'm tired too," TJ says
"I'll carry both of you," I laugh
"Mom I'm tired," Alex jokes
"Suck it up," I say
"Wow you're mean,"
"Mhm,"
I get the boys and we all walk inside.
"Kids, this is Gladys, Gladys that's Alex, Madi, Kate, And Tayleigh, and these two troublemakers are TJ and Owen,"
"Here Tones I'll grab one of the troublemakers," Pea says
"Thank you," I say handing him Owen
The girls talk to Gladys for a bit and I think madi absolutely loves her,
"Boys do you want to talk to Gladys?" I ask
TJ shakes his head and puts it in my shoulder.
"Why not boyo?"
"Because I want to see momma," he says
"We're going soon kiddo, I want to see momma too,"
"Well I gotta go, meeting FP and Alice for dinner,"
"Have fun Gladys, we'll do the exchange tomorrow?"
"Whenever, I'll be here for a while,"
"Perfect,"
We get into the van.
"Now can we see momma?" Owen asks
"Yes we will go see momma,"
I drive to the hospital.
"Let me go make sure she's awake first," I say
I walk to her room and peek in
"Hey tones," she smiles
"Hey baby are you up for visitors today?"
"Mhm," she nods
I call the kids in.
"Indoor voices, Momma is tired," I say to the boys
"Hi momma!" TJ says
"Hey buddy, how was school?"
"It was good,"
"Hey mom," Madi says
"Hey Girlies," She says "What's up?"
"We met Gladys," Alex says
"She's still in town? I thought she was just dropping and going,"
"She's going to stay for a while,"
Cheryl talks and hangs out with the kids for a bit until Pea comes to pick them up.
"Why aren't you coming home?" Madi asks
"I just want to hangout with Cher for a bit,"
"Ok,"
"I'll be home soon kiddos, boys you need to be reading in bed and girls you can watch tv until I get home but no fighting,"
"Ok, thanks mom,"
"No problem,"
They say good bye and leave.
"How are you actually feeling?" I ask
"Like absolute shit,"
I sit on the edge of her bed.
"You are the strongest person i know," I say "I love you so much,"
"I can't believe you stayed with me through all this shit,"
"Babe," I half laugh "through sickness and health,"
"Through nunneries and haunted forests,"
"Exactly," i laugh
I kiss her.
"Lie down," she says
"Ok I will," I laugh
I lie down and she cuddles to my side.
"Babe, I love you," She says
"I love you too," I say "always have always will,"
She falls asleep and so do I.

Apparently the nurses let me sleep here because I wake up in the hospital bed.
"Baby I got to get going," I say
"Mm or you could stay here," she says hugging me
"You get your chemo, I'll come back later ok?"
"Ok,"
I go to pick the older girls up for their tattoos and this- will Be interesting.

Just sorta a life update- I haven't been writing much because I've been focusing on Black Leather Jackets (check it out) but also because I haven't been in a good headspace lately but I'm coming back and hopefully am a lot better mentally than I was- al
