Coming Home

Cheryl has been home for about a week.
TONI's POV
Cheryl came home just in time for Riverdales' throwback dance, everyone who was not currently in jail from our class was attending the dance at our old high school.
"Cher remember that surprise I said was for KT and never really explained anything?"
"Ya because you ran off with Juggie,"
"Ya I'll tell you now since he's on his way,"
"He?"
"Remember my ex best friend Joaquin?"
"Ya he helped cover up my brothers murder,"
"Well anyways KT and him were really close when she lived in Manitoba so we are surprising her,"
"Ok that sounds good... I guess," She says sitting on the bed
"I know he'll bring up a lot of bad feelings but he really has changed,"
"Ok, I'll be fine. When did you see him though?"
"We sat next to each other on our way back to Riverdale when you were having your dying fit," I laugh
"Oh what a coincidence," She laughs
"I love you," I say putting my forearms on her shoulders
"I love you too," She says standing up and slipping her hands around my waist
I go in for a kiss and she dodges it/.
"What was that for?" I say pouting
"Oh but miss Topaz Blossom you think its that easy for me to get over you keeping a secret?" She teases
"Cheryl," I groan
She just smirks and moves to go changed her shirt. She take off her shirt and turns to me.
"TT, don't drool, its embarrassing." She flirts
"Shut up," I say rolling my eyes
"Or what?" She says sassily
That was it, I run towards her and pull her into a big hug. Then I lift her off the ground and carry her to bed. She was laughing and trying to fight back.
"Tiny Topaz got some strength," She says as I throw her onto the bed
"Shut up, and you know very well that's not my name," I smirk
"Make me, and then what is?"
Our noses are only half an inch away from one another and she grabs. The back of my hair.
'My name is Toni Topaz Blossom," I smile as she pulls me into a kiss
We break off the kiss and I pick her up and carry her down the stairs.
"PUT ME DOWN!!" She says laughing
"Fine,"
About 2 minutes later Joaquin and the stooges show up at the door. We talk until I hear KT coming down the stairs.
"JC?" She says confused "What are you doing here?"
She hugs him.
"Hey Taylor, I'm moving back to Riverdale,"
She flinched when he said Taylor.
"Cool,"
"I think I forgot to tell you, she changed her name after an incident with the lodges, its KT or Kait now," I say trying to give him the hint
"Oh that's cool!" He says high giving KT a high five
"JC?" Cheryl asks
"I also changed my name when I got to Canada, it was Jason Charles or JC,"
"Jason?" Cheryl says tearing up at the mention of his name
"Ya, I felt guilty for what I did, I wanted to respect and honour him so I used his name and became one of the most well known therapists for kids who are scared of their homes. I'm still so sorry for what went down Cheryl, I know Jason would be proud of who you are today,"
"It's no problem and I'm glad you did something good for all those kids," She says smiling
We talk for a while until it's time to get ready for the dance. Cheryl was wearing a knee length red dress, and I was wearing a black and teal dress that went to my calves in the back but to my mid thigh in the front. Cheryl bought it for me a while back. Kait was just wearing jeans and a purple golf shirt.
"Jughead and his limo are here," I yell up the stairs
We all walk out and are greeted by everyone.
"Riverdale's hottest couple Coming through," Sweetpea jokes as we make our way to the car
"HEY!" Jughead stammers
"Juggie we talked about this," Betty jokes
"Why did you rent a limo?" I ask.   Shaking my head
"For fun, plus everyone needs to know were still the best," He jokes
"And no one really knows about KT so its like an unveiling of sorts," Fangs adds
"What CHeryl posts of social media like 5x/hour," I argue
"Ya but she blocked everyone we know except the people standing here," Betty says laughing
We all get into the limo and get to the high school pretty fast. We get into the gym and immediately people start talking to us.
"And who is this?" Ethel says ushering towards Kait
"I'm Kathryn Taylor Topaz Blossom," Kait replies confidently
"We adopted her almost a year ago and she starts school next week," Cheryl says
"That's cool, good luck kid," She says "Oh and Congratulations on the marriage and adoption,"
"Thanks Ethel,"
We walk around talking to different people.
"Mommy, who is that?" She asks pointing towards the one and only Reggie Mantle
"An old friend of mommy," I say dragging Cheryl away from the food and to Reggie
"Hey Reggie!"
"Topaz!" He says giving me a high five
"Ah Reggie it's Topaz Blossom now," I say showing him my wedding ring
"Right, sorry I couldn't make the wedding,"
"No problem we knew you were over seas, but you did force me to find new bridesperson,"
Reggie and I were really good friends in junior and senior year, we alternated between QB and Wide receiver on the football team and were co captains so we got pretty tight. I haven't seen him a lot since high school because he joined the military right after graduation.
"Reggie Mantle," He says extending a hand to Kait
"Kathryn Taylor, but you can call me Kait,"
"Nice to meet you! How old are you?"
"I turned 9 a month ago!"
"What day?"
"July 4th,"
"Who would've thought Topaz? Our kids are the same age! Except he's born on the 6th" He says calling over a boy
"You have a kid?" I ask
"Ya, I adopted him with my wife before she died," He says
"Oh I heard about Alesha, I'm sorry,"
"Thank you, anyways this is Tate,"
Tate had tanned skin like me, but deep blue eyes like Kait, he had the build of Reggie and was about 1/2 an inch taller than KT. KT and him lock eyes and they both immediately look at the floor.
"Why don't you let me and mommy talk to Reggie alone and you and Tate can go talk over there," I say
She and Tate nod and look at each other and start walking away
"I have never seen my kid speechless," He said confused
"Same with KT, she's always talking." Cheryl says
"I think its possible they like each other," I say laughing
"Wouldn't that be something Reggie says shaking his head
We continue talking and sneaking glancing over to where KT and Tate are sitting.
"Who is KT with?" Jughead asks approaching us "I don't think I've ever seen her laughing so hard,"
"That's my son, Tate," Reggie says
"Mantle, whats up man?" Sweetpea says giving Reggie a fist pump
"Nothing much, where's the third musketeer?"
"RIGHT HERE!" Fangs says jumping into our circle "what are we talking about?"
"Well Cheryl, Reggie, and I were thinking that Tate and KT might like each other," I say laughing
"Why would you think that?"
"Because when they were introduced they were quiet and shy,"
"KT was quiet?" Sweetpea says in disbelief
"Ya I know," Cheryl says
We keep looking at them laughing and talking. Then Tate whispers something in KT's ear, KT nods and they both smile.
"Tate hasn't smiled like that since his mother died," Reggie says
"I don't think I've seen her this happy since she taught Juniper and Dagwood how to play hockey," Cheryl says
We continue talking until KT and Tate start walking over to us, Tate grabs KT's hand as they stand up.
"NO freakin' way," Jughead says laughing
"This is Gold" Fangs says
"That kid," Reggie says shaking his head "He has high standards if he's dating a Topaz-Blossom,"
We are all laughing by the time they make it over to us.
"DAD, I got a girlfriend!" Tate says proud of himself
"What did I tell you?" KT says flicking her head around to look at him
"Right, sorry babe," He says
Cheryl has to turn away because she's laughing so hard
"Mom, am I aloud a boyfriend?" She asks
"Ya sure sweetie whatever,"
"Good because I already told him i would be his girlfriend"
"Now can I say it?" Tate asks Kait
"Yes, go ahead"
"Dad now I have a girlfriend,"
"Atta boy, now go have fun!" He says
They run away hand in hand laughing.
"Thats hilarious," Cheryl says
"Kids these days," Fangs says
"Fangs you're just upset that KT has had more boyfriends than you," I laugh
"Hey, we've had an equal amount of boyfriends"
"She's 8,"
"Screw you,"
Just as this happens I get a phone call from an unknown number.
"Cher, I'll meet you at Pops ok?"
"Ok, Don't be more than an hour" She pouts
"It's a phone call" I say rolling my eyes and leaving the gym
I go outside and everything goes black.
