Chapter 22~ Bonfire, Talks and Cuddles

Katie's POV

       While I got the fire started, Selena passed around the hot dogs and roasting stick to everyone. We each ate about 3 hot dogs...well that is except for Niall, boy that dude can eat. He had a pack to himself. Selena wasn't kidding when she told me that he could pack away a fair amount of food. 

        Sitting inbetween Selena and Demi, I couldn't help but notice that the boys kept stareing at Demi. Honestly if I had my way, I would get Demi and Nick to date and Selena and Niall to date and last but not least I would get Cody and Marissa to date. I think they would all make cute couples like that! Plus...I kinda ship Nemi! I also read the fanfics you guys write about Nemi...y'all have some pervy minds, no joke. 

       Soon Selena and Niall moved to sit next to eachother and Demi and Nick did the same as did Marissa and Cody. I just went and sat near Maddie because we were the only ones who didn't have any guys near our age group. As the night went on we had our smores and sang campfire songs and told stories. It quickly approached midnight and Marissa said goodnight and goodbyes, quickly followed by Cody saying his goodbyes. It was down to the 6 of us now. 

        "Katie, Maddie shouldn't you guys be in bed" Demi asked us
        "Uh..No?" Maddie said
        "Yea um no. Its midnight and its summertime" I followed up with
       "Alright, well you guys can stay up until 1am, any later Maddie and mom would kill me and Katie you better not be grumpy in the morning or I will be mad."  Demi said
        "Alright" Maddie and I said in unison

        "Hey Dem, do you mind if I crash here for the night?" Selena asked Demi
        "Of course Selena, you know I have a room for you here" Demi said

        Soon the time approached 1am and Maddie was asleep on my shoulder. I woke her up and told her to go to my room. Demi, Selena and Niall went inside with Maddie as I went to turn on the water to put out the fire. I didn't realize that Nick didn't go in until I brought the hose to the fire pit. 

        "Hey Katie"  Nick called out
        "Holy shit...Nick I thought you went inside" I said 
        "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you, no I actually have something to ask you" Nick said
        "It's fine Nick, and what's up" I said
        "I was um wondering...if I could take you out tomorrow to get to know you better" Nick said
        "I would like that Nick..but you have to double check with Demi"  I said
        "I know, I wanted to ask you first" He simply stated as he went into the house. 

        Silently I put out the fire with the water and then went inside. I heard Demi and Nick talking outside, I climbed the stairs to the second floor. Instead of going into my room, I walked past it and went to Selena's room. I knocked on Selena's closed door and heard a faint come in, so I opened the door and closed it behind me. 

        "Hey Aunt Selena, I have a question for you." I said as she sat up in her bed
        "Well come sit by me and lets talk kiddo"  She said
        I walked over to her bed, crawled on and sat by her, leaning on her shoulder. 
        "I really want Nick to ask Demi out"  I blurted out
        "So you are a Nemi shipper I suppose"  Selena questioned
        " Haha yea I am..but I know You and Nick dated, and I know Demi doesn't want to hurt you by dating him. I also kinda ship you and Niall together"  I said shyly
        "Haha you are such a little matchmaker my dear Katie. I really don't mind if Demi and Nick date and I will let Demi know this..what Nick and I had is in the past."  Selena said
        "I might die for asking this...what about You and Niall?"  I asked
        "I really don't know kiddo, I like him but I don't really want a relationship with him right now. I mean Justin and I ended it on not so good terms but I am so glad that we are over"  Selena said. 
        " Don't kill me when I say this...but I didn't like you and Justin together. He always hurt you and as a Selenator, it killed me to watch you get hurt."  I told her
        "Haha. I love you and the rest of my fans Katie!" She said as she hugged me tight and kissed my head. 
        "That can't be all you want to talk about, so spill"  Selena said
        "Okay so Nick wants to talk me out tomorrow to get to know me better...I'm nervous...I don't want him to know about my battles."  I said
        "So you don't have to tell him until you are comfortable letting him in"  Selena said
        "Thanks Aunt Selena, that helped alot." I said
        "Anytime babygirl, now you have to get to bed before we are both in trouble with Demi"  She said

        I crawled off her bed after we shared one last hug and walked from her room. I called out Goodnight Auntie on my way out the door to which she replied Goodnight Niece. I love my Auntie Selena. On my way to my room I ran into Demi...quite literally might I add. 

        "Shouldn't you be in bed Katie" Demi asked me
        "Uhhh...probably. I was talking to Aunt Selena about something."  I said
        "Mhm, I will let it slide. Nick wants to take you out tomorrow to get to know you better...so you're going out with him. I gave him your number just now so um yea...go to bed."  Demi said
        "Haha okay Goodnight mommy" I said
        "Goodnight my goobear"  Demi replied with
        "GooBear? What?" I said barely able to contain my laughter
        "Oh hush just go to bed babygirl" Demi said

        With that I went into my room and changed into my pjs. I grabbed my phone and climbed onto my top bunk seeing as Maddie was starfishing it across the bottom bunk. As I got comfortable on my bed, my phone vibrated. 

        Text Message from Unknown Number
        'Hey Little Lovato...or I should start this off as Hey Katie, It's Nick. Demi said I could take you out tomorrow so I will pick you up in the late morning towards the afternoon."

        I replied saying thats fine and then saved his number and went to sleep.
