for tacklingavery happy almost one year best friend i love you so much

"get out," your mother said quietly.

"what?" you asked, your voice breaking.

"leave," she said calmly.

"we won't allow sluts in this household," your dad spat at you.

"b-but please! it wasn't my fault!" you began to cry.

"go!" your dad yelled. you stood from the table and ran out of your house, into the rain.

you ran down the streets of your neighborhood, heading in no specific direction.

you had just told your parents that you were pregnant. you knew that they wouldn't accept you, so you tried to hide it as long as you could. but you were starting to show. you had to tell them, and they kicked you out.

you didn't have any friends. you had gone to a party to try and make some friends, but you ended up drunk and pregnant. the father wanted nothing to do with you.

you came up to a gas station and ran inside. you went to the back corner and collapsed on the ground, crying into your hands.

"hey- woah, woah, woah, hey are you okay?" you jumped at the feeling of a hand on your shoulder.

you looked up, your eyes meeting with big brown eyes, the boy's curly hair falling down over his forehead.

"hey, are you okay?" he asked. you wiped your tears.

"i-i'm fine," you said shakily.

"you can't just sit here crying. um my name's jack avery. i can drive you home if you want," he said.

"i-i don't have a home anymore," you said softly.

"oh...well you can come to my house if you're comfortable with that," he said. you looked into his eyes again and saw how concerned he looked. you figured you could trust him, and if not you had pepper spray in your purse.

"o-okay," you said.

"yeah?" he asked. you nodded. he grabbed your hands and helped you stand up. he wrapped his arm around your waist.

"do you want anything?" he asked. you shook your head.

"you sure?"

"um...can i get some chocolate?" you asked.

"of course." he walked you to the candy aisle and you grabbed a chocolate bar. he then walked with you up to the cashier and paid for his drink and your candy.

you walked outside and he opened the front door of his car for you. you sat in the passenger seat and buckled your seatbelt. jack started the car and started driving.

"i can tell you some about myself if you think it'll make you more comfortable," he said after moments of silence.

"please," you said.

"okay. um i'm 19 years old. i don't actually live here in pennsylvania, i'm visiting my family. i live in california with my band mates, i'm in a band." he chuckled. "so now you know a little bit about me."

you nodded, but stayed quiet. you were still crying, but trying your hardest not to make any sounds.

soon you were pulling into a driveway.

"everyone should be asleep, but in case someone isn't we can just say you're an old friend. what's your name?" he asked gently.

"um y/n," you whispered.

"okay." he got out and came around to your side of the car, opening the door. he grabbed your hand and wrapped his arm around your waist, walking inside with him.

no one was awake, so you snuck back to his room and closed his door. you sat on his bed and he handed you the chocolate bar he bought.

"thank you," you whispered.

"you're welcome." he smiled, sitting at his desk. you ate the chocolate and stared to calm down. you took a deep breath and slowly let it out, still feeling a little shaken up.

jack stood up and sat next to you.

"you don't have to tell me anything, but i'm here if you want to," he said softly. you nodded.

"um, i'm kind of new here. i mean i've been here for about four months, but i don't have any friends. i went to a party to try and make some friends and i ended up...pregnant."

"o-oh," jack said.

"i was terrified to tell my parents, but i'm starting to show and i already know the gender, so i figured i couldn't hide it any longer. but they kicked me out and my dad called me a slut." you started crying again.

jack wrapped his arm around your shoulders and held you in his arms. he rubbed your back and soothed you, hoping to calm you down.

"i'm so sorry y/n," he whispered.

"i-it's not your fault," you said shake your head. you sat up from his chest and wiped your eyes.

"where's the father?"

"he wants nothing to do with me." you shrugged. "but i have nowhere to go and i don't know what to do."

"do you have any other family that would take you in?" he asked.

"i could call my aunt, but i won't be able to go tonight, she lives in oregon."

"i'm staying for a week, so tomorrow we can call her and we'll figure it out, okay?" he asked.

"so i'm staying here?" you asked.

"i'm not letting you leave with no place to stay. it's late and i'm sure you're exhausted. you can take my bed, i'm gonna y'all to my mom and then sleep on the couch. just let me know if you need anything, okay?"

"okay, thank you so much." you hugged jack, surprising him. he hugged you tightly and rubbed your back.

he got everything ready for you then left you to sleep. you were so grateful for him finding you in that gas station.

you weren't even thinking about the possibility that within that week, you'd become friends with jack and soon develop feelings for him, which would lead to you leaving oregon to live with him and end up falling in love.
