why cover up your flaws when
they make you who you are?

"hey y/n!" your friend yelled as you entered the door. you had just arrived at one of the many parties you had been invited to that weekend.

"hey, what's up!" you yelled back. your friend came and hugged you the brought you into the kitchen. the house was blasting with rap music and it reeks of alcohol and weed.

"we got the weed upstairs, but first we have to get you a drink."

"you know how i like them." you nervously laughed. your friend made your signature drink and handed it to you. you looked down at it.

"you alright?" your friend asked.

"huh? yeah. i just started drinking at my house so i'm a little out of it, ya know," you lied.

"damn, you couldn't even wait till you got here." your friend laughed. you nodded, going along with what he said. he grabbed your hand and led you upstairs.

everyone was passing around joints, smoking up the whole room. you stood in the door for a minute, a little nervous to join. you had done it a million times, but each time you got nervous and knew you'd regret it.

but the people liked you when you did it. they loved being around you when you drank and smoked and had fun. before you had "let loose" everyone hated you for being so serious and uptight. you didn't like that people didn't like you. it made you feel dumb and worthless. not even your boyfriend, jack, could cheer you up.

so you decided to change. it was recent, you just stated going to parties and hanging out with the cool people a couple weeks ago. but it didn't take long for them to accept you once you got high and drunk wit them. acceptance was all that you wanted. even though you hated beer and the smell of weed made you gag, you did it to fit in.

so you pushed away your feelings and let the alcohol take control of your body as you sat down on the floor. someone passed you a joint and you took it, bringing it up to your lips.

"jack," you slurred into the phone.

"y/n, you're drunk again?" he asked, sighing.

"i'm s-sorry baby i was at a party," you slurred.

"i'm coming to get you."

"no! you should come and stay for a while. we could dance and make out and have fun." you giggled.

"no, i'm taking you home and we're gonna talk once you sober up."

"no babbyyyy," you slurred. jack had hung up. you shrugged and put your phone back into your purse, grabbing your cup and drinking the alcohol.

soon you were being carrie lad out by jack.

"come on jack let her stay!" your friend said.

"fuck off," jack spat.

"hey, that was rude," you slurred, then laughed. jack shook his head as he took you to the car. he set you in the front seat and handed you a water bottle.

"drink this." you sighed and took the bottle, opening it and drinking some.

"are you horny? is that why we left early?" you asked, putting your hand on jack's thigh. he grabbed your hand.
