Yet another cavetown song oneshot but this time it's gay-

I am just a fool to keep on chasing after nothing great
You are just a fool to keep pretending that you're loving me
I don't know where I'm supposed to go
Oh oh oh oh oh o-oh oh
oh oh oh oh o-oh oh

Ned walked down the hall, thinking slightly about how he doesn't deserve his best friend. There was something so kind about the way Peter Parker socialized with people, and it always made Ned question why he would bother hanging out with someone as lame as him.

He never brought this up, because he didn't really want to see Peter frown with a look of pure sadness. So he kept quiet, and watched from afar, careful never to overstep his boundaries.

Call me on the phone at three, I talk to you while half asleep
Complaining 'bout your mother so I take you to the cemetery
Rant to me I like the sound, I like your voice, I like your mouth
Oh
O-oh
Mm m m m

Ned opened his eyes groggily and reached for his ringing phone. Checking the time, he saw it was 3am when Peter was calling him. Answering it, he sat up and pulled the covers around his back, shivering slightly in his cold room.

"Ned?" Peter asked shakily.

The voice made him slightly more awake, but his eyelids were still drooping closed. "Hey, Peter," Ned yawned.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to wake you. I just had a really... I had a dream, and I'm kind of frazzled? I'm sorry. You can go back to sleep it's okay," Peter rambles, his voice never losing the shaky tone.

"Peter, it's alright. What happened in your dream?" Ned asked.

"I woke up and my mom was just... there. My dad was too. It was like they never left. I got to talk to them and hug them, and it felt so real... and then they said they had to leave. It was like that night. Everything was suddenly dark and cold and then I forced myself awake," Peter says.

Ned can tell by his voice Peter has tears on his face. He frowns.

"It's okay. It was just a dream, alright? You're okay," Ned soothes.

"I miss them so much," Peter sobs. "I barely remember them, but I miss them so much, Ned."

"I know," he says gently. "I know."

It's quiet from Ned's end as Peter's sobs slowly dissipate.

"Meet me outside my house. Let's go for a walk," Ned says, an idea sparking. He pulls on a jacket and flannel pajama pants when he hears a small 'okay' on the other line.

He waits patiently outside and eventually sees Peter drop down from the wall. Removing the hood from his face, he gives Ned a weak smile, but Ned can see the tear tracks on his face.

They start walking to a graveyard nearby Ned's neighborhood, the same one where Peter's parents are buried. Peter subconsciously leads them to the graves, knowing the way like the back of his hand.

Ned knows that Peter comes here a lot to think, and imagine what could have been. Peter looks as if he's about to break when they reach the graves, and Ned puts a hand on his shoulder. Peter turns to him and hugs him tightly, crying into Ned's shoulder.

He blushes slightly but holds him tight, giving Peter the comfort he needs before taking on the world again.
