October 6th

"Come on, Lexa. You've been sitting in this hospital for days. Dylan is fine, they're just keeping him in here for a few more days to keep and eye on him."

"I know, I know."

"Let me take you out. We'll go grab a bite to eat and then go over to my house and just chill."

"I just-"

"You need to leave here, Alexa."

"Okay." I walked back into the hospital room and grabbed my bag.

Dylan was asleep. He had needed two surgeries, plus he had a bad concussion and was at risk of going into a coma. I had been staying here since his parents were out of the country and Marie and them still needed to run the restaurant.

I walked out and wrapped one of my arms around Corbyn. "Let's go."

-

"What do you want to eat?" Corbyn asked, driving around.

"We can just order something and go ahead and go home."

"Are you sure?"

"I look terrible and haven't showered in three days. I would like a few people as possible to see me."

"You're still cute." Corbyn picked up my hand and kissed the back of it. "Delivery it is."

-

"Are you okay?" Corbyn asked, taking a bite of chicken.

"Yeah, why?"

"You're just acting different."

"How am I acting different?" I snapped.

"No, I didn't mean it like that. Just you've not wanted to do anything for a few days except stay in the hospital with him."

"I'm sorry," I apologized. "I want to, but every time I leave I feel guilty. He has nobody that is staying with him right now, and I guess I just feel responsible."

"You are not responsible for him at all. He knows that his family has a business to run and that they can't be up his butt twenty-four-seven. He also knows that you and him are not a thing anymore, and that you don't have to be there."

"I know. I'll give it a break. I'll stop by for a few minutes tomorrow and that will be it."

"Hey," Corbyn said, moving from in front of my to beside me, "I love you."

"I love you too."

"I brought The Greatest Showman for us to watch," Corbyn said, pulling the movie out from literally no where.

"You didn't. I thought you hated this movie."

"Well, after you watch it thirty seven thousand times, it is possible to grow a disliking towards it. But I'll sit here and watch it for you."

I smiled and gave him a hug.

-

"Have you been talking to the boys at all?" I asked.

"Yeah. David was a little pissed that I wasn't there but they explained the situation to him."

"Have you guys worked anything out so that you can go?"

"Actually, I wanted to talk to you about that. We've all been talking, and we decided that it would probably be best for the band if we all moved to L.A."

I felt my heart sink. "What?"

"There are more opportunities out there than there are here."

"I'm happy for you," I said, forcing a smile.

"I know you don't want me to," He said, looking down at me.

"No, not really. What is going to happen to us?"

"We are going to text, and call, and FaceTime every day. We are going to visit whenever humanly possible, and we are going to stay together. I'm not letting a few miles take away the most important person in my life."

"Does Bailey know yet?"

"Daniel is supposed to tell her when he gets back."

"I'm sure they'll work it out. I haven't seen her click with anyone like that in ages."

"Yeah."

An awkward silence began to fill the room as we continued watching the movie.

Alexa:
-hey, can you come over later and talk?

Brent:
-Yeah, you okay?

Alexa:
-I just need someone else to talk to right now. I'll text you when Corbyn leaves

Brent:
-Okay, just let me know

==

Corbyn:
-Are you at home?

Jordan:
-yeah

Corbyn:
-Can I come over and talk to you about something?

Jordan:
-Yeah, come whenever.

Corbyn:
-thanks

"Hey, I have to go," Corbyn said, sitting up. "Jordan just texted me and said he needed my help."

"Okay," I said, locking my phone screen. "I'll see you later then."

"Love you," he said, kissing me.

"Love you too."

I heard the door open then shut downstairs. I unlocked my phone again and text Brent.

Alexa:
-He's gone

Brent:
-I'm omw
