Ashley:
-please come and talk to Corbyn
-he's a mess

Alexa:
-Ash, I told you. I’m pretty sure were done. I don’t need him to say it out loud rn

Ashley:
-Please lexa. He won’t talk to anyone
-He knows he messed up

Alexa:
-My window is open if he wants to talk. Sorry ash

I laid my phone face down on my desk and continued sketching.

Neither me nor Corbyn had even made an effort to try to talk to each other after our argument last night, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

There was a light tap on my door, followed by Lilly opening it and stepping in. “Hey, what ya doing?”

“Just drawing.”

“You’re so talented. I always wanted to draw but artistic abilities are something I never had. I just wanted to tell you that I’m sorry if I’ve been to harsh. I was an only child growing up so my parents were super protective so it’s all I know. Will you give me a second chance?”

“Well, I guess I am stuck with you for a while.” I let out a tiny laugh before hugging Lilly.

“Thank you. Are you and Corbyn doing anything tonight? If not, I was thinking of me, you, and your dad all going out to eat somewhere nice.”

“Yeah, we can do that. I’m not exactly sure if me and Corbyn are either a thing anymore. We got into a pretty bad argument last night.”

“I’m sorry sweetie. I’m sure things will work out in the end.”

I gave Lilly a small smile and she stood up and left my room. My phone buzzed on the table so I picked it up, reading the messages.

Corbyn:
-I think we need to break up.
-I’m sorry

Alexa:
-No. I mean, if we can’t make it through one argument then how are we supposed to do this long distance thing?
-Kinda takes trust for that

Corbyn:
-yeah

I felt a tear fall down my face as I stood up and grabbed my bag and keys. I made my way downstairs and through the kitchen, heading for the front door.

“Sweetie, what’s wrong?” Dad asked, noticing my now tear stained face.

“Nothing, dad. It doesn’t matter anymore.”

“Come here,” Brent said, opening his door and embracing me in a hug. “Come on, I have popcorn, chocolate milk, and some new movies neither of us have seen before.”

“My perfect night.” I let out a small laugh, which really just ended up being a puff of air. “After all that. All the shit we both went through, it’s gone. Everything.”

Brent shut the door behind him and we both walked into the living room. The couch was already covered in plenty of blankets and pillows, enough for all four of us.

“We couldn’t last through one argument.”

“I know I’m supposed to be supportive here and say that maybe it’s for the best, but it’s not. I have never seen you happier with anybody than the times you two were together. So yeah, it’s gonna hurt like hell. But we’re all here for you, and we will spoil you with all of the fettuccini and junk food that your heart desires until you feel better.”

“I don’t deserve you guys.”

“Yes you do. You have done so much for us, let us have our turn to pay you back for everything.”
