October 15th

“Alexa, you need to wake up if you’re going to go with the boys to the airport,” Lilly said nudging my side.

“Okay,” I mumbled. I waited to hear my door close before I got out of bed. I went into the bathroom and freshened up before changing into a sweatshirt and some shorts.

Megan sent me a text saying that they were here. I grabbed my bag and yelled to dad, telling him that I would be back later today. He said okay so I walked out the door and down to the car. “Woah.”

“I know, the boys didn’t have enough space in their cars so they put some in ours.”

“Well, if all the boys packed like Jonah did, I wouldn’t be surprised.”

“Plus, the families doubled in cars, so only three of their cars are being taken.”

I got in and sat down in the back seat. “I don’t know where they are going to put all of this stuff, but okay.”

Bailey pulled out of the driveway and we headed to the airport.

-

Turns out, Jonah was the light packer of the group. “Why do you need six suitcases?!”

“Because I couldn’t decide what to take and what to leave,” Corbyn said.

“Most of those are his shoes,” Daniel chimed in. I rolled my eyes at him, he had seven. “Why do you people even have this many suitcases? I have literally one.”

An announcement came over the loud speaker calling for the boys’ flight. We all stood up looked at each other.

“That's you guys,” Brent said.

“Yeah.”

We all gave each other hugs and said our goodbyes. Me and Corbyn were the last ones to say bye to each other.

“I’ll miss you,” Corbyn said as he gave me a hug.

“I’ll miss you too. Who else is going to keep my life exciting?”

Corbyn chuckled and pulled away. “Bye Lex.”

“Bye Corbyn.”

The boys all gathered their things and headed towards the plane.

“There they go,” Megan said.

“Off to across the country. We may not see them for months,” Bailey added.

They were right. We wouldn’t see them for a while, and who knew if we would even have time to talk to them over the phone. And then it actually hit me. They were leaving. Corbyn was leaving. “I’m such a fucking idiot,” I mumbled. I saw the girls give me a confused smirk as I started running towards the boys. “Corbyn, wait!”

He turned around, a little confused but he was smiling. “What? Can’t get enough of-”

And I cut him off with a kiss. I felt Corbyn wrap his arms around my waist as he kissed me back.

We pulled apart and smiled. “I knew I wouldn’t be able to do the just friends thing for long,” he said, “but you broke before me.”

“It was worth it.” We kissed again and the last announcement for their flight came on. “You should go.”

“I’ll call you as soon as we land.”

“You better.”

He gave me a quick peck and turned around, jogging to catch up with the guys.

I turned around and made my way back to the girls and Brent.

“I was starting to worry that you wouldn’t crack,” Bailey laughed.

“What?”

“We may have had a bet going to see how long you would last before something happened with Corbyn. They each owe me ten bucks. I nailed it on the head,” Brent laughed.

“Y’all are horrible. Making bets on my love life.” I rolled my eyes before turning to Megan and Brent. “You both owe me fifteen.”

“I know, I know,” Brent said as he pulled his wallet out.

Bailey looked at us with a confused face. “You did not-”

“I told them that you and Daniel wouldn’t do anything at the airport,” I said, collecting my money. “It’s the night before that counts.”

Everyone laughed as we walked out of the airport, all piling into the girls now empty car.

“Let’s go get something to eat. Lunch is on me,” Brent said as we pulled out of the drive way.

He better remember that call.
