Summary: Continuation of Hot Hot Heat
The paralyzing scream from Ryan’s mother was only a mere few seconds, but to Brendon it seemed as though the deafening tone lasted forever. His face was burning red and pushed so hard against his friend’s neck that he could taste the salty sweat on his lips. He was holding onto Ryan for dear life, and Ryan’s body felt almost lifeless, exhausted. The only indication he was still alive came from the thick hot breathing against Brendon’s shoulder. Brendon could hear Ryan’s mother yelling about something, he couldn’t quite make it out with the excessive pounding in his head. Right now he wanted to disappear, and little did he know, but Ryan’s mother wanted the same thing.
“Get up! Get up!” she shrieked, throwing unoccupied clothes at the two boys. This was enough to knock them from their embrace and they very quickly grabbed any piece of clothing they could to pull onto their naked bodies. Brendon’s face turned a darker shade of crimson as he looked up and seen Ryan’s father standing sternly in the doorway, and was taken by surprise as Ryan’s mother gripped onto his arm firmly tugging him from the bed.
“Brendon, get out right now! Don’t come back!” she yelled and pointed toward the doorway, where Ryan’s dad took hold of his arm and escorted him to the front door, shoving him outside in to the dry evening air.
Brendon stood stunned on the front step. With every window in the house opened he could clearly hear yelling and then Ryan’s voice, which was followed by the sharp snap of skin hitting skin. This sound shocked Brendon in to running. Running as fast as his exhausted body could possibly take him. Every blade of grass seemed to cut sharp in to the bottom of his bare feet as he ran toward his house. His heart was racing at a near impossible rate as he reached his front door. Grabbing for the door knob, he stopped to take a few deep breaths before entering the house.
As he walked quietly in to the house, closing the door behind himself, and there was silence. The blackout had cut out any humming noises that usually resided within the Urie home. The silence stung Brendon’s ears as he slowly, very carefully, walked further in to the house and toward the staircase to his room. When his foot reached the very first step, he heard a strident laugh coming from the living area, and he immediately froze in position, heart pounding in his chest. Once realizing it was the jarring laugh of his mother, he quickly raced up the stairs, hoping his parents didn’t hear him enter the house.
He felt as though he was able to breathe when he was safely inside his room and the door closed tightly behind him. His heart was still thumping out of control and he had never felt so exhausted in his whole life. He wasn’t sure if it was from running or – his thoughts were quickly interrupted by the faint sound of the phone ringing. There were one, two, three, four rings before he heard his mother’s soft voice saying ‘Hello’. Automatically he knew who she was talking to, and he strained to hear any words he could, but all he was able to make out were strings of mumbled syllables.
Sitting on the edge of his bed he closed his eyes and concentrated on breathing in and out, anything to calm himself down. With his eyes closed and breathing beginning to shallow, he was almost sure he felt Ryan’s warm lips skim against his. His eyes immediately flew open at the feeling, so much for staying calm. He could hear the quiet groan of wood as someone climbed up the stairs and he slowly hunched over so that his elbows were on his knees. He then buried his face in to his hands, which smell distinctly of his friend, and right now he wished that he never knew what that smelled liked.
The door creaked open and he didn’t look up, just pushed his face harder against his smooth palms. And like a 4 year old, he was hoping that if he couldn’t see his parents, they couldn’t see him, but it was a wasted hope.
