YOUR POV

"Got the target and are making our way back to the compound." Natalia spoke into the little black communicator in her ear, flicking a few switches on the jet we were on.

"Where are we going?" I croaked as my body slumped further into the passenger seat she set me in.

"Back to my agency. You'll be safe there." She glanced at me before the jet took off into the air.

"I need to get to water or I'll die before we get there. The water heals me." I informed her when I saw her give me a questioning glance.

Natalia looked me up and down, grimacing when she saw just how bad my injuries were. Whatever those agents injected me with was burning my skin slowly from the inside out.

"Hang on."

My knuckles turned white from gripping the arm rests tightly when the jet went even faster than it was going.

[...]

My grip around her waist tightened even more when my body stumbled off the jet and towards the shore of the secluded beach we were on. My body was becoming weaker and stiff that it was hard to move. A few seconds too late and I would be dead.

Gathering as much strength as I could muster up, I allowed myself to push myself out of her hold and into the salty lake water. The coldness felt good on the heat of my sweaty back.

The fish swam around me, coming closer to me for a few seconds before swimming away as I sat down on the bottom of the lake, the sand around me fluttering up before settling back down.

I could see the red head from the reflection under the water, the small smile evident on her plump lips. Pushing myself towards the surface, I smiled at her when I made it, pushing my hair back out of my face.

"Thank you... for rescuing me." I thanked the redhead agent.

"Just doing my job. Mind if I join you?"

"By all means." I chuckled, turning around so I wouldn't tempt myself to watch her unzip the tight mission suit off her pale, curvy body.

The water rippled and I felt her heated skin gently rub against my arm, a small zap of electricity running through my body. I subtly took a little step further away so I wouldn't pop her bubble of personal space.

"What's it like ruling over the lakes and oceans?" She asked me as the sun hit her sea green eyes just right I found small specks of blue and gold.

"I wouldn't know. My father rules over them."

"Yeah but I'm sure you own a small part at least, right?"

I shrugged, "My father wants me to rule Atlantis with him and eventually take over it myself. I didn't want that."

"Then what do you want?" Nat asked me softly as her hands glided through the small waves.

"I wanted to live a human life as much as I could. I guess that's out of the question now." I chuckled sadly.

"I wanted the normal life too, have the American dream with the love of my life." Nat shook her head with a small sad smile on her face, "But you got to work with what you get I guess."

I hummed in agreement, "At least you have someone. The world gets rather lonely."

Nat laughed, "I'm very much single. Guess I haven't met the right woman yet to handle me and my work."

"We all got baggage. I guess you just got to find the person willing to help carry it all."

"You're very insightful for someone who hasn't lived a human life long." She gently nudged me.

I smiled at her as I splashed her with water, catching her off guard. She tossed her head back with a laugh before splashing me with water.

Both of us relaxed and played in the water long after the sun set in the sky.
