Claire was walking down the hallway when someone grabbed her arm and pulled her into an empty class room. She stumbles slightly but the person keeps a hold of her and helps keep her steady. She looks at him and realizes it's Alaric, who Klaus is still possessing.

"Hello, sweetheart" He greets. He desperately wants to place a kiss on her soft looking lips but he restrains himself. He couldn't kiss her, not while in Alaric's body. Or else he'd feel tempted to rip Alaric's heart out for touching his mate, despite him not doing it of his own accord.

"You do realize how bad this'll look if someone finds us, right?" Claire asks raising her eyebrow at him.

"How do you do that?" Klaus mutters trying to raise a single eyebrow but failing miserably. Claire smiles and releases a small giggle. He smirks deeply loving the sound of her laughter. "I had to see you" He said caressing her cheek. "I could barely sleep last night. All I wanted was to be next to you, yet I couldn't have you." He mutters.

Claire sighs and raises her hand. She grabs his wrist and moves it away from her face. Klaus frowns but doesn't try to touch her again

"You'll have to get used to that." She whispers softly. Klaus sighs feeling wounded by her words. "Klaus..." Claire sighs and takes a step away from him. "We can't be together, not right now. I don't trust you, I can't be with someone I don't trust."

"I will earn your trust, you have my word" Klaus assures. Claire smiles at him softly. "You do believe me right? I will earn your trust."

"We'll see" Claire mutters. He sighs and shoves his hands in his pockets to prevent them from reaching out for her. "I'll see you around, Klaus" She gives him a small smile before leaving the room.

She sighs heavily as she walks away from him. All she wanted to do is turn around and run straight into his arms. She wanted to be around him, to never leave but she couldn't do that. She was being honest, she couldn't be with someone she didn't trust. If she couldn't trust him with Madelyn, then she can't be with him.

She then thought about the entire situation. She thought about Klaus killing Elena. She thought about Elijah trying to kill Klaus. She thought about how she knew Klaus was in town but nobody else, not even Elijah knew. She felt guilty for not telling Elijah but the moment she met Klaus, even if he isn't in his own body, she knew she didn't want him to die. She didn't know how to tell Elijah. She wasn't even completely convinced she would prevent Elijah from killing him, despite not wanting him to do it. If she wasn't sure Madelyn was safe, then she wouldn't stop Elijah.

After school, Claire returned home. She relieved Sarah from her duty and watched over Madelyn. She notices something up with her mom, she wasn't acting right but whenever she asked, Liz said it was simply work stress. Claire didn't believe her but didn't question her either.

She was hoping Elijah would be home but he wasn't. He was working tirelessly to find Klaus making Claire feel extremely guilty. Elijah could feel her guilt which made him suspicious but he never forced any answers from her. Even though he wished she'd be honest and truthful with him when he asked if something was wrong, he never forced her to tell him.
