"Ryenne!" I heard a cheerful voice call me just as I stepped foot out of the academy gates.
I stopped in my tracks and turned to face Litheon who had his arm slung around Xael's shoulders. He, unlike before, was now sporting a bright smile and excitement radiated off of him. As he walked, he had a little hop to his step.
I just watched, half amused and half curious.
When the duo came to a stop before me, Litheon asked, "Guess what I'm gonna be doing this spring?"
I could only watch him in wonder. Did he finally decide to take up another hobby other than annoying people?
"What are you going to be doing this spring?" I asked monotonously, causing him to sigh exasperatedly.
"I said guess."
I stared him.
One. Two—"Leon...just tell me what."
The boy sent me a glare before conceding.
"I decided that I would learn to play a sport in the spring!" He exclaimed. Almost immediately, I could see stars jumping out of his eyes as he threw a fist up in the air. "Now, I'll be able to go to the athletic training center with you both all throughout the rest of spring!"
I could almost hear him scream "Huzzah" in the middle of the lobby. Oh, the embarrassment it would bring.
"Ah...haha..." I feigned a laugh as I glanced over to see Xael's face that was filled with dread.
"Well," I start off as I find myself smiling in relief. "I actually won't be here all spring, so it will just be you and Xael at the center."
As I spoke, I could feel Xael's desperate eyes, but I ignored his pleas as I faced Litheon's disappointed yet curious eyes.
"Why? Where are you going?"
"I'll be going to the countryside. Ron (Ryon), Yoon (Ryun), and I are going to be undergoing training from the elders." I explained.
"Oh...But aren't you passionate about Jiu Jitsu?"
I blinked. Then I blinked again. What a shocking question to have received.
"...No..?"
Litheon tilted his head in astonishment.
"Really? I would've thought you were since you and Xael go so often."
I could only let out an awkward laugh as I shrugged the question away. Wanting to avoid Xael's gaze that said "I'm telling Instructor Irold", I took a glance behind me and saw that my family car has arrived. Turning back, I give Litheon a pat on the shoulder.
"I have to go now, but I'm glad you're investing your time into something other than foreign languages and statistics. You were getting a bit out of shape, too..."
I notice Litheon's facial expression changing rapidly, and wanting to avoid any further delay of escape, I start jogging towards my family car as I waved goodbye.
"See you guys next week, then!"
