Year 12

After my demonstrations with Instructor Irold, my body had become sore and lethargic. I hadn't realized how much a month of little activity has done to me, but I'm facing the consequences now.

I let out a tired sigh as I rested my head on my propped up hand.

My classmates have been more active than ever. They would gather in groups during the break and chat about the clubs they joined.

Surprisingly, many made efforts to talk to Isa. Even more absurd was her willingness to actually interact with them.

I watched in wonder as she actively engaged herself in the conversation. It was a rare sight for her to go out of her way to interact with others, but it seemed like she was adjusting well to a new group of people.

With no one left to converse with, I decided to go to the salon. Since my arrival, I've had yet to thoroughly explore the new place, so I was quite excited to do so.

Standing up, I make my way to the door, but before I could even open it, it opens before me. A tall figure comes into my view, and I am faced with the initials on the student's blazer.

L.K.

I lifted my head to face Litheon who stared at me with surprise which quickly turning into a beaming smile.

"Perfect! I was just looking for you, Ryn!"

I pursed my lips and furrowed my brows as I looked up at him. I was reluctant to even know the reason why he was looking for me.

Recognizing my thoughts, Litheon pouted, causing gasps and squeals from the girls around us. I inwardly rolled my eyes as I listened to him complain.

"Oh, come on. What I have to say is not that crazy. I think you'll even like it."

I stared at him for a moment before sighing in defeat. I waved him out of the classroom before leading the way to the salon.

"What is it?" I asked, glancing back at the energetic boy.

His face was bright as ever as he quickly caught up to my side and asked, "Ryn, do you want to be the new manager of the volleyball club?"

I stopped walking and just watched him incredulously.

"Leon...you do realize that I didn't join a club for a reason, right?"

Litheon turned and watched me blankly before nodding his head like a child.

"That's why I came up with a proposal." He exclaims, gesturing for me to follow him. I huffed a sigh and continued walking as I listened to his explanation.

"So, I know that you quit taking jiu jitsu lessons because you wanted to focus more on culinary, correct?"

I narrowed my eyes at him before nodding in agreement. Although I was suspicious, I was also curious as to what he wanted to say so I continued to listen without a complaint.

"Well...if you become our new manager, you will have unlimited access to testing dummies for your new creations. Also, if you do become our manager, you will be able to create connections and even become more proficient in management. You'd be ready to run A'lette before Ryun could even dream of it."

Litheon clasped his hands together and tilted his head at me expectantly, his beautiful smile out for the purpose of convincing me.

"So? How 'bout it? Do you want to become our new manager?"

I crossed my arms and pursed my lips for a moment before asking, "Leon...Didn't you say that Ryun recruited you to the Volleyball team?"

"Uh..."

"Does Ryun know that you're trying to recruit me?"

Litheon's expression became slightly dejected as he shook his head. "...No..."

"Then I guess I'll become the manager. Where's the paper?" I couldn't help the laughter that came when Litheon's head snapped to my direction.

"What? You want to be the manager?" Litheon's eyes became wide as he stared at me. "All of a sudden? But you seemed so against it at first?"

I let out an evil chuckle as I nodded. "I'd do anything to mess with that bratty cousin of mine. And the benefits aren't bad."

"Ah..."

"So? Are you going to give me the papers or not?" I raised a questioning brow, snapping Litheon out of his daze. He quickly rummaged through his bag before pulling it out and handing it to me.

I quickly glossed over the paper before I put it away and looked back up to see Litheon trying his best to hide his excitement. I could only roll my eyes as I nudged him to start walking.

"Let's go. I want to at least see what the salon looks like before break ends."

"Yes, ma'am!"

Author's note:
Have any of you watched the new K-drama 'It's okay to not be okay'? If you haven't, then you really should!
Honestly, I cry every single episode and the story is just unlike any other drama.
Anyways, concerning this chapter, I have been debating on whether I should make Ryenne connected to another sport, but I was just like, whatever. I think it'll help with some development of the characters.
Also, the reason why I decided to choose volleyball is because, first of all, I wanted it to be a team sport because it's just more enjoyable to watch or see interactions. And secondly, because I love Haikyuu!
Honestly, I was really debating between VB and Basketball because, well duh, Kuroko no Basket, but I think I'll be able to get more info on VB through my friend.

Question:
Now that Ryenne has decided to become the manager of the Volleyball Club, what do you think will happen?
