Intermission: Xael Alpheus

Spring Break

Since Ryenne left for City Z, it seems as though everyone finds me as the next best person to consult their problems with or complain to. While Litheon complained to me in person, Isa complained to me over the phone. At times, this will result in the both of them yelling into both of my ears to overpower the other.

Sighing, I massaged my temples as I tightly shut my eyes.

Usually Ryenne would be with me when we have to calm the two down, but now I have to deal with this all alone...it's much more difficult than I imagined.

"Xael?" I hear Litheon call out to me as I look up and see him approaching me. It's been three weeks since he first started accompanying me to the Athletic Center and training, though he has yet to settle on a sport. "Are you okay? Your complexion is a bit dull."

I watched him for a moment, keeping my silence as I let out another sigh. "Would you please stop provoking Isa?"

Immediately, I watch his face sour at the mention. Childishly, he feigns sickness.

"I can't help it. Every time I see her face, I want to puke. I only feel better when she doesn't." He shrugged his shoulders as he takes a seat beside me, downing his third water bottle.

"You're hopeless..." I muttered to myself, but he must've heard since he glared and punched my arm. I found it to be painful, a great contrast to his twig like arms three weeks prior, but I didn't show it and just glared back his way.

"Anyways, I heard that you're going to be switching to a different style of martial arts? Which one is it going to be this time?"

I sighed as leaned back on the bench, supporting myself with arms propped behind me. "I'm not sure, but my grandfather wants me to follow in his footsteps and learn Taekwondo."

"Really? Then what'll happen to instructor Irold? Aren't you his only student?" I could only watch Litheon's stupidity and mentally face palm. And this is supposed to be the heir to Imperial?

"Even without me there, he still has Ryenne and all of his other students. It's just that Ryenne and I have private lessons so you have never heard of his other students." I inform him. Litheon just nods absentmindedly as he stands up from the bench and waves me off.

"Sorry, coach is calling for me." He begins as he proceeds to toss his bottle at me to catch. With a salute and grin, he ran off while I sighed and placed his bottle to the side.

There was only so much I could tolerate before I go crazy. Perhaps I should ring the Atstelli residence for Ryenne's assistance...

Author's note:
Took my AP Calc test earlier this week. Honestly, it was the most anxiety I've felt in a while. Next week I have another test (AP English Composition) but I'm probably just gonna BS that one.
Strange enough, despite being an author, I absolutely suck at writing essays. I wish these creative skills carried over, but...oh well...
Oh! Right! By the way, keep this in mind that this is probably one of the longest conversations Xael has had (that I've written, that is...).

Question:
Anyone else hating quarantine? Raise a hand.
