CHAPTER SIXTEEN

After Taehyung dropped his cup 'accidentally', Anna helped him clean up the floor. Later, he insisted her to stay back and sleep at his place, even though Anna tried to reason with him.

And honestly, a part of Anna was happy that she'd be able to get an amazing good night's sleep in the guest bedroom. She called up her mom and apologised for her behaviour like the good girl she was, and informed her that she'd be staying at Sara's. Believing the lie, her mom let her be since she knew her daughter was going through a rough patch.

"It's Saturday tomorrow, which means no school for either of us. So get yourself some good rest and don't hurry in the morning to leave soon. Take your time, okay?" Taehyung instructed her, to which Anna nodded her head like an obedient student. Anna would've never dreamt that she'd ever get a teacher half as amazing as Taehyung, but she did. And she thought of it as a blessing for probably saving the country in her last life.

Little did she know, that his treatment was indeed because of her previous life, but for an entirely different reason.

"Goodnight, Taehyung." Anna bit back a wide smile by trapping her bottom lip between her teeth, in turn, driving Taehyung completely insane on the inside.

"Goodnight, Beth." Taehyung vanished before he could get any more tempted by the love of his life.

Just like Anna had expected, her sleep turned out to be great, again making up for all the lost sleeping time. Her eyes grew as big as saucers when she saw the clock reading 11:30am.

"Holy shit!" Anna threw the blanket off her body and ran to the bathroom. A smile made its way to her lips when she saw her toothbrush still there from the other day. She quickly finished her business, again internally crying for not being able to use the shower.

She was wrong.

When she got out of the bathroom, she saw a dusty rose dress on the edge of the bed with a plain, white card on it.

"Whoa!" Was her first reaction when she saw Taehyung's handwriting for the first time, eyes resembling those of a deer caught in headlights.

Get ready and please wear this.
               - Tae

Anna trapped her lower lip between her teeth and smiled, holding the card to her chest while her face turned into an apple. Most of all, she was happy to finally take a shower and the shower head literally beat her expectations to pulp. Because it was that bloody good!

She slipped into the dress, awing at how beautifully it hugged the curves of her body. Taehyung sure did have a great taste in fashion and she was so glad!

She wore her long coat on top of her dress and walked downstairs after tying her hair up in a low, messy bun.

The first thing Taehyung did was drop the book he was so engrossed in and stare at Anna as she walked down the stairs ever so gracefully. Nostalgia started to play in his head when he saw how her wavy bangs framed her face gorgeously just like Armelle's did. He was so deep in love, he was hopeless.

"Morning!" He chimed, looking at his antique wristwatch, "Looks like you had a good sleep?"

Anna took a seat next to him on the couch and nodded, "Yes, I did. And thank you. For this dress. It's beautiful."

You make the dress look beautiful, Beth.

"You're welcome." Taehyung smiled warmly, eyes disappearing into crescents, "Now, c'mon. We're going out for brunch!"

Anna had never been to this part of the city before. To describe it in one word, it was posh. The streets were wide and super clean, luxury brand showrooms on either sides of the road.

"Why are we here?" Anna mumbled as if in a daze, eyes scanning though the designer clothes on display.

"Brunch, duh!" Taehyung looked around for a parking spot.

"Yeah, no shit!" Anna immediately slapped her mouth with her palms, eyes going wide at what she just said to her teacher, "I mean... I know."

Taehyung chuckled, but his eyes were focused on the parking spot, "I'm not your teacher out of school, so don't worry."

Anna internally facepalmed, "Sorry, I mean, why here? This place looks expensive as hell!"

"And the food tastes like heaven." Taehyung countered with a playful wink as he pulled the hand brake up.

Flustered, Anna got out of the car along with Taehyung. Her cheeks turned pink, but she wasn't sure if it was because of the cold breeze nipping at her skin or if it was because of Taehyung's wink.

Tucking their hands into their pockets, the couple walked side-by-side until they reached their destination. Taehyung pushed the glass door, "After you, mademoiselle."

Anna giggled and whispered, "Thank you."

A middle-aged man walked to them, "Ah, Mr Kim! It's good to see you again!" He bowed his head at Anna, "Table for two?"

"Good to see you too, Mr Oh! And yes, we'd like a table at my usual spot, please." Taehyung grinned.

The man nodded and guided the two of them upstairs. It was quiet, because of the lack of people present on the upper floor. The interiors were classy with rustic wood laminates on the wall and light blue accents. Plants were hanging from the ceiling, making the place feel warm and homely.

Once they took a seat by the window, Anna let out a gasp after the manager left, "This place is so pretty."

"The food is much better." Taehyung grinned widely.

Just then a waiter greeted them and placed the menu cards in front of them, "Welcome to The Golden Emporium. These are your menu cards, and I'll be back to take your order shortly." He bowed and walked away.

Anna picked the menu, instantly turning her eyes into massive spheres, "What the hell! Why is fettuccine 65 bucks?"

Taehyung chuckled, "Ignore the price. Just get what you think seems good, okay?"

"No! This is too expensive! I'd rather have a $2 cheeseburger in McDonalds!" Anna set the menu on the table and crossed her arms at her chest.

Taehyung smirked smugly, "Fine, I'll just order for myself and then we can go to McDonalds."

"Whatever." Anna pouted, not meeting eyes with the man in front of her.

"Here's your order, sir. Enjoy!" The waiter carefully placed the plate of steak before Taehyung, and walked away.

Taehyung picked up his knife and fork, slowly cutting through the piece of meat. Anna's mouth began to water as she saw juices ooze out of the meat. Absentmindedly, she licked her lips and gulped as the delicious smell of the steak filled her nostrils.

Taehyung smiled victoriously to himself at how easily he swayed Anna. He moaned as he chewed on the meat, tempting Anna further.

"Want some, Beth?"
