Me and Clementine walked to the other side of the lodge and we saw Walter stirring a pot of something. He notices us and smiles.

Walter: Hey, Clementine and, Y/N, is it? Settling in well enough?

Clementine: Yeah, thanks.

Y/N: You got it right, and yeah, same here.

Walter: Excellent. Want to help me prepare a little dinner?

Y/N: Sure.

Walter: So how do you know Kenny? Him and Sarita have been a huge help. Matthew and I barely knew what to do our first week.

Clementine: We're old friends... I met him after 'it' happened, on a farm.

Y/N: And I met him, along with Clem here at a drug store.

Walter: When he was with Lee? Yeah, he only told us a little.

Me and Clementine both close our eyes at the mention of Lee.

Walter: Connecting with people is so important. I don't know what'd I do without Matthew.

He adds salt to the pot.

Walter: Gosh, y'all remind me of my students. I can't imagine what it's like growing up in this.

Y/N: Well, people underestimates us for starters.

Walter chuckles.

Walter: I expect you to use that to your advantage.

Clementine: Sometimes.

Walter: Smart kids.

He eats some of the food.

Walter: Mm, almost done.  Would you two do me the honor of tasting the first course?

Me and Clem look into the pot.

Clementine: What is this?

Walter: Le Walter Surprise. An autumnal legume salad with a peach roux.

Y/N: Uh...

Walter: It's peaches and beans. It's all we got.

He picks up a can of peaches.

Walter: Huh. Striking resemblance.

He shows Clem the can which had the little girl with pigtails.

Walter: Anyway, I'll take it from here.

He picks up the pot and leaves.

Y/N (sarcastically): Huh, we really helped.

Clementine giggles.

Clementine: I know right?

I looked to my left and see tables with bowls on them.

Y/N: Huh, kinda reminds me of school.

Clementine: Thankfully we don't have to go anymore.

Y/N: Heh, you can say that again.

We walked over to Sarita and Sarah, who were putting decorations on a Christmas tree.

Sarita: Hey, you two. We could use some help. Here, Sarah, you take this and string them up over there.

Me and Clem  both grabbed an ornament and hung it up.

Sarita: Y'all knew Kenny before. It must be incredible to see him again.

Y/N: It's weird to see him. But good weird, not bad.

Clementine: How'd you meet Kenny?

Sarita: I found him holed up in an old restaurant, if you can believe it.
