"So what time do you meet the other captain?" Ron asked me in the common room while all of us were sitting in front of the fire. I had managed to drag Ginny with me, and the trio already happened to be sitting here so I broke the news to them. I didn't miss the flash of disappointment that went across Harry's face but he hid it well.
"At 7:00 actually. I'm assuming we'll be picking the dates for tryouts," I beamed still riding on the high I got when McGonagall told me the news.
"I better be automatically on the team then," Ginny added.
"I can't wait to be chasers together!" I giggled thinking about how fun the games will be, "your trying out right Harry." He snapped out of whatever daydream he was having and looked to me.
"Sorry what?"
"Tryouts. I asked if you'll be going for the team again this year," I said slowly.
"Yeah of course," he stated blankly.
"What's going on with you. You've been so distracted ever since we saw you this summer," Hermione said with a concerned look on her face.
"No I havent," he defended.
"Yes you have! Do I need to remind you that we're on your side? There's no reason to be so angry," Hermione pushed further
"Well seeing someone die in front of you sometime does that for a person." We all stayed quiet at his statement not knowing the appropriate way to reply, "I'm going to go do homework upstairs," he stood up to leave.
"Harry-" I started getting up to go after him but Ron pulled my robes back.
"Just give him his space," Ron whispered and I sighed feeling defeated. So far I felt like I had failed Sirius. I was meant to be watching over him at Hogwarts and instead I was giving him all this 'space' to be sad and alone.
"I just think this has something more to do than the graveyard," Hermione carefully said, "It's like he's so mad at the world, all the time."
"Has he had any more visions like last year?" I asked carefully. I knew that last year he had persistent dreams of the graveyard in flashes.
"I mean yeah he's hardly been sleeping. I've had to wake him up a couple of nights because he's thrashing around and talking in his sleep." We all looked sadly to the ground until I noticed the time.
"I should probably make my way down to McGonagall's. I'll see you all at dinner," I walked out and went towards the Professor's office. I forced my brain to shut the part of my mind that was worried about Harry off; that was some something I could deal with later. Instead I started to overwhelm myself with all the different ideas and game plays I had in mind. There was a specific tactic in America called the eagle which almost guaranteed one of the chasers to score every time the play was ran.
I walked inside and saw that the classroom was still empty. I must've been the first one to get here out of the two of us. I sat atop of the desk in the front of the glad and picked at my fingernails. The nail on my thumb had chipped earlier and it was making me scratch my face every time it touched it.
I kept biting on the corner of my nail, not noticing someone coming in the room behind me.
"You've got to be kidding me," a girl's voice said. I swiveled around with my finger still in my mouth and was met with the eyes of Angelina.
"You?" I said confused.
"Yes me! And why are you the other co-captain. You haven't even played on the team yet!"
"I'm not completely clueless! I played back in Ilvermorny and was a damn good chaser at that," I retorted.
"This isn't the states you dumb American," she snapped at me, "and it's my final year, the other captain should at least be another 7th year."
