The following day consisted of a boring set of classes and a lonely Friday night. Harry, Hermione, and Ginny had been invited to an exclusive dinner party with Slughorn which left just Ron and I in the common room. It would have been the perfect time for me to talk to Anastasia but she was nowhere to be found, once again. I had to assume she had either been pulled out of school for something, or was terribly sick.

"Maybe I'll quit after tomorrow's game," Ron said with his head leaning against the back of the sofa.

"Why would you do that?" I kicked his foot.

"I can't handle the stress! I mean the last few days I've either wanted to cry or throw up," he complained.

"Ron you put way too much pressure on yourself dude. You are a good player but it's like you're trying to convince yourself you aren't," I shrugged.

"Bet Cormac would do better," he grumbled.

"What is it with you and your obsession with Cormac," I turned to him, "seriously the guys an asshole you don't want to start comparing yourself to him. Before he could respond Lavender came down on the sofa and sat right in between Ron and I.

"Hello roomie," she giggled at me, this being the first time she ever has approached me first at school since the three years I've known her.

"Hey Lavender," I said apprehensively.

"I came over because I wanted to see what you were doing next weekend?" she smiled.

"Next weekend?"

"It's the first Hogsmead weekend for the whole school. Maybe you'd want to go together, Ron why don't you come too!" She suggested. I raised my eyebrows since she had never asked me to go do something with her, and I knew it was just to get Ron.

"You know what that's great idea!" I responded under Ron's glaring eyes from behind Lavenders head, "that sounds like so much fun! Why don't you plan it with Ron here while I got to sleep!" I gave a fake yawn and smile while standing up to head to bed.

Ron looked at me with pleading eyes and with the wave of my fingers I left him in the common room.

"You okay, Ron?" Ginny asked the next morning when he walked to the breakfast table. I was sitting there in my full uniform along with everyone else, when he walked up with a green face.

"I'm counting on you, Ron. I've 2 galleons on Gryffindor, ya?" Seamus and Neville came and pat his back, adding onto the pressure no doubt.

"Be good, Ron."
"Loser!"
"What's he wearing?"

Comments came from left and right trying to speak to Ron. Ruby even walked by my table and wished all of us luck for the match, and joked that she'd be taking notes so she could beat us next time.

"So how was it, then?" Ron gave a pointed look at Harry and Hermione across from us.

"How was what?" Hermione asked confused.

"Your dinner party?" Ron said in a mocking voice and narrowed eyes.

"Hey don't get jealous just because we didn't make the cut," I elbowed him.

"It was pretty boring actually. But I think Harry enjoyed dessert," she explained sipping on her drink, "Slughorn's having Christmas, do you know?"

"No way! That sounds so fun," I said glumly, suddenly wishing I worked harder on my potions grade so I could have gone.

"I'm meant to bring someone," Hermione added and we made brief eye contact, me surprised at the light hint she dropped.

"I expect you'll be bringing McLaggen. He's in the Slug Club, isn't he?" Ron said rudely once again.
