I woke up a full day later after I had taken the sleeping potion. Hermione was right beside me when I woke up, informing me that both Harry and Ginny had hidden the half blood prince book where it could never be found again.

I had multiple gift baskets beside me with people giving me their condolences after the 'accident' is what they were calling it. I didn't dare to touch any of the food in the baskets, fearing that they were all laced with poison.

I read a couple letters I received from my dad and Fred. Dumbledore was being more strict with visitors coming into the castle, so they weren't able to come and visit me.

Fred and I were—we were fine. I still felt uneasy about what Tara had been trying to tell me but I was just jumping to conclusions. I made sure to write Fred back immediately letting him know I was completely fine and not to worry.

"Harry feels terrible you know," Hermione told me sadly as we were leaving the hospital wing once I finally got told I could go, "he had no idea what the spell would do otherwise he wouldn't have even used it on Draco!"

"I get it," I shrugged, "didn't make the experience any better though."

"I know just...please don't be too harsh on him," she frowned, "I think something's really getting to him, and I can see how stressed he is from not being able to get Slughorn's memory."

"Hey I love you Hermione, but until you were the one on the opposite end of that spell, please don't tell me how I should respond," I rolled my eyes. I knew she was coming from a good place but I was also Harry's friend, I understood what he was going through too. I didn't need to talk about it and have someone telling me how to manage my feelings, "i'm heading to lunch i'll see you," I waved and walked off from where we had been together.

I just needed a break from everyone and everything, something that could serve as a breath of fresh air.
I took my time walking alone and enjoying the silence both around me and in my head.

"Hey Violet good to see you're doing okay!" Aiden walked past me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "will you be at practice?"

"Thanks Aiden. And don't worry, I wouldn't miss an opportunity to show you up," I stuck out my tongue and he chuckled at my response before walking away. It was nice to get along with him now since last year I hated him even more than I do Cormac.

The section I sat in with the trio was empty as expected, so I took a spot next to Ginny, Neville, and Anastasia.

"Are you okay?" Anastasia stood up immediately when I walked in the dining hall, "I heard through school gossip that you got into some kind of accident with Draco in the bathroom?" Her eyes were wide and surprised, almost looking a little scared.

"He didn't tell you?" I said as I sat down.

"No," she shrugged, "we don't talk anymore."

"Well yeah i'm all good," I nodded my head, "just have a couple battle scars on my stomach from it but i'll live."

"Good. I went to the hospital wing to visit you while you were sleeping. Left a basket of things and everything." At the same time she was talking an owl flew overhead me and dropped down a little pink letter.

"Oh thank you but I've been trying to be more careful about what I accept from people with the whole poisoning fiasco," I explained while I ripped open the envelope.

"Got it," she answered, "so how was your break?"

"Good yeah! The holidays were great given the circumstances," I sighed referencing the Burrow burning down, "but overall I had a good time.— oh my gosh you'll never believe who this letter is from —get this, Fred and George's freaky employee got me a present!"
