Anastasias betrayal sat deep within my stomach, and wavered there making me feel slightly nauseous. But there was no time to dwell on what had happened, especially since all signs of Harry coming back rang in the walls.
"Colloportus!" I screamed with all my might and attempted to put a heavy lock on the Ravenclaw door. Now that I could hear the blasts even louder throughout the castle I knew it wasn't safe for my sister—or any of them—to leave.
My head was practically beating out of my head at this point, screaming in pain for what was about to happen. This was the shortest amount of warning my Seer powers had given me to predict a death, and I had no idea if I'd be able to see who it was in time.
I sprinted as fast as I could to where I could hear the crashing noises and screams. They were coming from outside of the headmasters office, and I prayed that the liquid luck was keeping everyone else safe.
I stumbled in the room, tripping over two bodies that were laying in a pile of blood. There was no time to inspect since I could hear a curse directed right at my head.
"Crucio!" A blonde female death eater screamed and I dropped straight to the ground, the spell barely missing me. I rolled to the side and jumped up scanning every person in black robes; I was begging my Seer powers, begging the liquid luck to save all of us.
Tonks was in the corner fighting an enormous blond wizard who was sending curses flying in all directions, so that they ricocheted off the walls around them, cracking stone, shattering the nearest window—
"Move!" I shouted and ran at her full speed, to push her away the collapsing rubble from the wall about to fall atop her.
We landed on the ground hard but I didn't even stay beside her long enough for her to say thank you. The Order members had to be my priority, they were the only ones without liquid luck.
I squinted and tried my best to spot who's future death was causing my headache, but whatever mind it was coming from was blocked with an immense amount of force. I couldn't break through the thick walls of the barrier and I could feel my mouth cry out from the effort I was putting in.
Luna slammed into my side, knocking me out of my trance and we both rushed to get back up. A painting had been magically lifted and chucked towards us, the splintering wood littering around Luna and I in a circle.
I spotted a head full of black hair trying to combat two death eaters at the same time. It was my dad, and I knew he wouldn't hold up much longer since they were both closing in on him—
"Stupefy!" I shot back at the female, which gave my dad plenty of time to petrify the other death eater and leave him laying still on the floor.
"Violet you have to get somewhere safe—"
"No!" I argued back, "help the others!" I shouted and ran away from him before he'd use a force of magic to kick me out of the fight. Ron and Hermione were back to back, helping eachother fight off any jinxes sent their way.
I spotted Ginny in combat with a lumpy Death Eater, Amycus, who was throwing hex after hex at her while she dodged them. Amycus was giggling, enjoying the sport of taunting a girl younger than half his age, "Crucio—Crucio—you can't dance forever, pretty—"
"Impedimenta!" A voice yelled from the stairs leading to the headmasters office and I saw it was Harry. His face held a variety of emotions and I couldn't tell if Dumbledore and him had either succeeded or failed.
His jinx hit Amycus in the chest who gave a piglike squeal of pain, was lifted off his feet and slammed into the opposite wall, slid down it, and fell out of sight behind Ron, Professor McGonagall, and Fred—FRED.
