"Nathan?" I asked from the doorway of mum's quarters as he rummaged around in one of the cupboards as he glanced at me over his shoulder and gave a smile before turning back as Blaise appeared behind me

"Yeah?"

"Can I talk to you about something?"

"Go for it"

"When me and Holly were four and Oscar was three.... do you remember that Winter?" I asked quietly as he paused for a moment before turning to me, a couple of letters in his hand as he looked at me

"Why?"

"Curious. Do you?"

"Yes.... I remember a lot about that day-"

"Do you remember when-"

"I've got to go Amelia. I need to get these to the others-"

"What happened to the-?"

"We need to get to the ministry too-"

"Nathan-"

"I'll talk later Amelia-"

"Why are you so determined to avoid this conversation Nathan?" I asked loudly after he had slipped past, half way down the stairs as we turned to look at each other and I tried to stop myself from pursing my lips

"I'm not. I've just got to go. I'll see you when I get back Amelia" he told me before disappearing down the stairs and out of sight a moment later as Blaise poked me and I turned to look at him

"Come on, we've got to get to our detention"

"Do you know where we're going?"

"Trophy room" he told me as I let out a groan before we both shared a laugh, arriving at the trophy room about five minutes later as I read the note on the door and huffed in annoyance

"What does it say?"

"We have to clean every single trophy in here. By hand. And without magic" I told him as he too, let out a groan before we went in, finding two buckets of water and cloths as we looked at each other

"Start at separate ends and meet in the middle?"

"I suppose it's the quickest way"

~~

"This definitely was not the quickest way" Blaise groaned, a solid three and a half hours later as we stood side by side, finally in the middle of the room as I stood with aching arms

"What have I done to deserve this? I'm a good person"

"You once pushed me down the stairs because I made fun of your height"

"... I'm mostly a good person" I mumbled quietly after a pause as I glanced at Blaise and we both started laughing before I started scrubbing the trophy in circular motions again as he stopped and looked at me

"You're doing that wrong"

"I'm not taking advice from you. You pronounce the 'g' in 'lasagna'"

"Say it how it's spelt!"

"You're just dumb"

"Maybe I am. But you're still doing that wrong-"

"Don't you dare fucking tell me that I'm doing this wrong because it's what I've been doing the whole way round. Fuck it, let's go, I'm sick of this" I muttered as I hastily shut the door and we ditched our stuff before leaving quickly, heading straight back to the common room as we got in with a sigh of relief

"Better be quick Amelia"

"What? Why?"

"Quidditch practice-"

"What?!" I asked Flint ludicrously as Blaise started laughing hysterically as I jabbed his stomach before looking back to him as he nodded while the rest of the team started making their way over

"Quidditch. I just managed to get us a practice-"

"And I just got out of detention-"

"Not my problem-"

"Flint-"

"Let's go-"

"Flint!" I shouted as I was shoved towards the entrance of the common room and through the halls as I let out a whine, a collective laugh coming from behind me as I turned and smacked the backside of his head

"That hurt, you know-"

"Not my problem" I cut across him with my eyebrows ever so slightly raised as we stared at each other quietly before he started laughing and I tried to hide the smile growing on my face as I was pushed towards the steps

"Come on, move it"
