|Chapter twenty three : Misery|

"Misery loves company" I hummed while flicking through the book I had propped open in front of me

"You don't have to tell me that. It's the basis of our whole friendship"

"...Well fuck me"

"I'm fine thanks, I'm straight"

"Blaise... you're a guy" I told him quietly as I glanced to him, watching as he nodded with a grin

"I know"

"... I'm just going to let you think that over" I muttered quietly, smiling amused to myself as I carried on with the transfiguration homework as he sat there quietly for awhile

"... I realise my mistake"

"Thank Merlin for that" I sighed as the two of us started laughing quietly, careful not to be heard

"Let's not tell anyone about this"

"I'll think about it"

"No, you won't tell anyone"

"Try stop me" I grinned as I packed my stuff up, hastily getting to my feet as he tried to catch up with me as I left the library, taking off down the hall at a run as I laughed at him over my shoulder as I raced down a set of stairs as he shouted to me laughing. Catching sight of a group of people ahead I grinned as I picked my pace up, crashing into Cedric's back as he stumbled forward a couple of paces and I gripped at the back of his robes, glancing to Blaise before darting around in front of him as he tried to spin around to see where I was

"What's happening?"

"He's trying to attack me, Cedric! Help!" I yelped laughing as Blaise tried to make a grab for me as I ran away from him and around Cedric as he followed me before I took off in the opposite direction, laughing hysterically as he followed me still and I started climbing staircase after staircase, strategically jumping the trick steps as I ran down the charms corridor, getting hauled into a classroom  after rounding the corner as a hand covered my mouth, drowning out my yelp of surprise as I was walked away from it and I watched as the door was shut and I looked up at Cedric amused

"Watch" Turning my head I watched as Blaise ran past the classroom door and everything was quiet for a couple of moments before Cedric started laughing, moving his hand away as I joined in and his face appeared in front of mine and we grinned at each other

"Care to enlighten me?"

"To an extent. Blaise is dumb" I told him laughing as he shook his head amused and I leant my head against his as he started swaying

"So this is your girlfriend?"

"No-"

"Yes-"

"What? You lied?" One of his friends asked as me and Cedric shared a split second look before the two of us glanced to the two, both of them pretty much identical as a smile grew on my face and I nodded

"We wanted to keep it a secret"

"Wait, Cedric Diggory willingly told a lie? What have you done to him?"

"Who said it was me? It could have of been either of you two"

"It was them. So stop blaming my Lia for your mistakes"

"Oh fuck, you two are actually dating"

"Watch your language Ethan. Amelia has innocent ears-"

"Do I fuck"

"Language-"

"Sorry Cedric"

"So you two... are actually a thing?" One of them asked as the two of us started laughing again and shook our heads

"You two are so gullible-"

"I think it's hilarious"

"I think you're lying"

"We think you're lying"

"I think that you two aren't the sharpest tools in the shed-"

"Amelia-"

"Cedric?"

"Be nice please"

"I am being nice. Did you think I wasn't?" I asked quietly as I turned to look at him and he kept his hands on my shoulders, looking at my face as he sighed quietly, bringing me into a hug as a smug grin grew on my face

"Why are you always making me feel like this?"

"Because I can be so-"

"Manipulative-"

"To put it bluntly. Yes" I laughed as I looked up at him and he kissed my forehead

"I love you"

"I love you too"

"Come on! You two have to be dating!"

"We're not!"
