Wandering down the corridor I knocked on the potions classroom door before walking in, catching sight of a cauldron set up as I wandered over to the desk and had a look through the ingredients

"Do you know what potion you'll be making?"

"Strengthening solution?" I guessed as I looked between the pufferfish eyes and wiggentree bark as I glanced up and watched him nod before setting a book down in front of me as I flicked through the pages

"This should take around an hour and a half, usually more depending on the capability of the second year brewing it-"

"Second year Professor?"

"Yes Miss Black, second year, that is what I said. Your time starts now" he told me before walking off as I shrugged and pushed my glasses on as I put the cauldron over the flame and started slicing the bark

"That's me done" I said after an hour as I set my wand down and looked at my potion, having barely looked at the book as he walked over and leaned over the cauldron and looked at it before giving me a curious look as he flicked his wand, everything disappearing and getting replaced as I looked at the next potion ingredients

"An antidote for common poisons- what would you use?"

"A bezoar"

"Very well- name three of the twelve uses of dragons blood"

"Dragons blood can be used for an aid in healing, mimicking human blood and is also used to keep dragons alive-"

"Not an answer I'm looking for Miss Black-"

"Alright, it can be used as oven cleaner but I would not recommend it" I told him as he gave the slightest of nods before the book in front of me started flicking through pages by itself

"You shall attempt to brew the first half of the Confusing Concoction and leave the second half for next week, at the same time" he told me as I nodded and watched as he walked off again and I reached forward before pulling the Chizpurfle carapaces towards me.

Leaving around an hour and a half later, instead of walking to the common room I made my way up the stairs leaving the dungeons as I made my way to the entrance hall, grinning when I caught sight of Hagrid

"Hi Hagrid!"

"It's you is it Amelia?"

"Yep, the one and only" I grinned as I reached his side and he smiled at me

"I was half expectin' it ter be Holly" he told me as we walked down the entrance hall steps, on our way out to the dark grounds as we walked in the direction of the Forest, a grin forming on my face

"Really? How come?"

"Well, Nadia said you've got Diggory to keep an eye  on yeh. An', well... Holly has the Weasley twins"

"Okay... yeah, point made" I said amused as we shared a laugh while we stopped outside his hut and I went over to Fang who was sitting there waiting for us as I turned to Hagrid

"So what is it we're doing?"

"There's somethin' tha's been leavin' dead moles, rats, voles and some gnomes aroun' the grounds"

"So it could be a hippogriff?"

"Maybe, or it could be somethin' else"

"A Jarvey?" I suggested as he nodded and motioned for me to follow him as we walked into the Forest, casting a glance back as I looked at Fang who was standing outside the hut uncertainly

"Is Fang coming with us?"

"No, he's stayin' behind. The ruddy coward" he told me as I started laughing and we carried on walking, stopping a couple of times when either of us pointed out a dead mole or rat. Quite awhile had passed and I was stopped in my tracks as Hagrid put his hand down heavily on my shoulder as I looked at him confused before falling silent as the noise met my ears. Turning my head I watched as hundreds of bodies ran in front of us, hooves pounding off of the forest floor as I stared up at the centaurs amazed,

"Tha' was a close one. You alrigh' Amelia?"

"That was one of the best things I have ever seen" I breathed as I stared after their retreating figures as I was urged on, listening as he let out another laugh

"There's a lot of 'em aroun' here- an' here we are. Here's our problem" he said as he pointed to the right of him as I peered around, finally catching sight of the Jarvey. Resembling an overgrown ferret as a grin grew on my face, knowing what was about to come our way as it looked up, it's black eyes narrowing as it stared between us and I looked at its bushy tail as it opened its mouth and I caught sight of its sharp teeth

"What you laughing at midget?"
