"Lia?"

"Yeah?"

"Who would you live for?"

"We're in Transfiguration" I hummed to Pansy as I looked back up to the board at the front of the class, turning back to my parchment I stopped as I found both her and Daphne staring at me

"What?"

"She's being serious"

"Do I have to answer?"

"Yes"

"Are you two looking to be apart of my answer?"

"Partially"

"So are you going to answer?"

"Look, it is one of the stupidest questions in the world in my opinion. I've never understood it and I'm always confused as to how people would make a choice. I mean, why would you choose a person to live for? What's causing you not to live? It's a stupid and pointless question that only mindless gits take the time to answer. I'm not saying that that's what you both are because you aren't... it's just... how are you actually supposed to answer that? Is it in a singular or plural sense? If it wasn't the latter how are you meant to choose one person to live for when you care and love for more than just one?" I asked quietly, careful not to get Professor McGonagall's attention as I looked between the two who were looking between me and each other with thoughtful looks

"But... if I had to answer that question it couldn't be in a singular sense, only plural. So in that case, every person that I have met and been in the company of for a period of time"

"That's a great way to put it actually-"

"Wait... does that count for Draco as well?"

"Don't push it. I said person, not piece of irrelevant shit" I told Pansy as the three of us tried to stifle our laughter while we continued to copy down from the board

"We'll get the singular answer from you at one point"

"Maybe you will. Maybe you won't" I mumbled with a smirk, the rest of the lesson dragging by as we were set an assignment, a groan simultaneously coming from the two as I laughed quietly before we left, heading to the Great Hall for lunch

"I am starving"

"Hi starvi-"

"No! Daphne!" Millicent cut her off before I could as she appeared opposite me and Blaise on the bench as both she and Pansy stared at Daphne from where she sat with them

"Oh come on! That was a good one!"

"Embarrassing more like"

"That wasn't embarrassing. Amelia and Blaise are embarrassing"

"Wow, she's got a point-"

"Amelia! Don't agree with her, she's insulting both of us" Blaise said as I started laughing and quickly grabbed a roll and distracted myself as I tried to keep myself from laughing while I felt hands land on my shoulder as I smiled up at Cedric

"Hello"

"Hi Lia. How was your detention then?"

"Not that bad- that isn't why you came over"

"How do you know that?"

"Because I just do. I know you. I've known you my whole life, I can read you like an open book"

"Right back at you"

"So am I right?"

"Yes"

"So come on then, spill the beans"

"Alright, but I'm taking a seat because my legs are sore" he said as we shared a laugh while he sat down next to me and looked at them all as I went to open my mouth

"I know who they are; Pansy Parkinson, Daphne Greengrass, Millicent Bulstrode and... Blaise Zabini" He said as he nodded to them all as he looked at them all, his eyes lingering on Blaise as I intercepted his line of sight and raised my eyebrows at him as he smiled innocently while I sat back down normally

"And this is Cedric Diggory. Anyway, what is it you're so desperately needing my attention for?"

"How come you know Miles Bletchley?"

"Who now?- I was eating that" I told him after he took my roll from me and started eating it with a grin as I rolled my eyes amused

"Miles Bletchley" he repeated as he reached for my goblet and took a drink as I tried not to laugh while refusing to give any indication that I knew who he was on about

"I don't know who that is"

"Oh really? Because I swear I seen you walking down to the quidditch pitch with him last night"

"Oh! I know who you're on about, I didn't know that was his name"

"You were at the pitch?"

"No-"

"Don't lie Lia"

"Don't start pressuring me Ced-"

"So where was it you were heading? With someone who just so happens to be the Slytherin keeper"

"Okay. I knew he was the Slytherin keeper, happy?"

"I knew you knew, carry on"

"And I was asking him about trying out for the team next year, you know, as a chaser"

"That's all you were doing?"

"Yeah"

"Oh, that's fine then. That gives Hufflepuff a year to prepare for your tactics. Anyway, it was lovely to talk to you again Amelia but I'm afraid I do have to head back to my own table, people might wonder where I've gotten to"

"I don't blame them. You always manage to dig yourself into a hole"

"... wow. Thank you for that Lia. I care about you as well"

"I know you do, that's why we love each other"

"That... we do. Anyway, I'll see you all later" he said with a grin before getting up and walking away with what was rest of originally my roll as I shook my head laughing, lifting my head to meet their curious and confused looks

"What?"
