"So... what do you want?" Daphne asked as I sat down opposite her and Millicent the next morning as I sighed
"In life? A heart, a soul, maybe a companion, a-"
"Daphne meant food. For breakfast"
"Oh... I'll have Cheerios" I said after a pause as she passed me the box of cereal and I filled my bowl with a small smile as I looked back up, finding the two staring at me before they started laughing
"What?"
"How can you sound and be so depressing then make up with it for asking for a cereal that is linked with happiness?" Millicent asked laughing as I shrugged with an amused look
"I honestly don't know" I told them as Pansy plopped down onto the bench next to me
"Well good morning to you too"
"It's too early"
"It's nine o'clock in the morning, so much of the day is gone" I said to her laughing as she gave me a look before leaning against my arm
"Yes well if you're unhappy about so much of the day disappearing why don't you wake up at six in the morning? Get an extra three hours"
"I did wake up at six in the morni-"
"What in the name of Merlin is wrong with you?!"
"I like to wake up early. Unlike some people" I said simply as I cast a glance to Pansy before laughing as I carried on with my breakfast
"And it's Saturday, how come you didn't sleep in?"
"The dorm was empty, I thought it was the afternoon"
"Yes well no one is stopping you from sleeping outside"
"Why would I sleep outside? I'll stick to my bed, thanks"
"Well we'll be outside today to take a break, seeing as we don't have classes"
"But we have homework-"
"Do it outside" Daphne cut Millicent off with a shrug as I nodded and the two fell silent before imitating her with a shrug and I let out a light laugh as we sat there for awhile longer before heading outside while we made our way to a tree by the lake, sitting under the shade of it as the mild September wind hit us and I flicked my wand, our work appearing in a pile as the three let out a groan before unwillingly taking what was theirs
"Hey, the quicker it's done the quicker it's out of the way" I told them as they all glanced at me and I grinned at them as we started working, Blaise appearing around an hour later as he joined in, rather reluctantly
"Hey Amelia? I'm not sure what this sentence means..." Daphne said uncertainly as I looked up from my Herbology work as she held her work out as I stretched forward and took ahold of it and scanned it before passing it back
"'Ignorance is bold and knowledge reserved'"
"You can read Latin?!"
"You can read?!"
"...... that's cold, Zabini" I told him as I turned my head to him with a look as he burst out laughing as I did too
"In all honesty, I'm as surprised as you are"
"We all are"
"Oh wow thanks, Millicent" I scoffed before flicking my wand as my things disappeared
"You're finished?!"
"Oh, yeah. It was easy"
"Well if it's that easy you can do mine as well-"
"Blaise take your work back"
"Okay" he mumbled as I looked at the disappointed look on his face as we both started laughing
"Amelia? Is that your sister coming towards us?" Millicent asked as I turned away from Blaise grinning and looked ahead as I spotted Holly walking towards us with Cedric as I waved to them
"Who's she with?"
"Cedric" I told them amused as the two got nearer and I glanced at the confused looks all but Pansy had
"He's a third year Hufflepuff, I've known him all of my life and I love him to bits-"
"Awh I love you too Lia"
"I wish you spoke about me like that"
"I do speak about you like that, you're just never around to hear me say it" I told holly laughing as she beamed at me before passing me a scroll of parchment as Cedric started tapping my head in a rhythm as I smiled up at him
"So who's this from?"
"Minnie. She asked me to give you this because she couldn't find you- I'm nosy, what is it?"
"It's the time of my detention- tonight at eleven. Well we can all guess who won't be sleeping tonight" I said amused before tucking it in my pocket as Holly went back to the castle awhile later
"Cedric?"
"Yeah?"
"Why are you still tapping my head?"
"Because I want to annoy you"
"Oh wow. Thank you"
