Sitting on the stones beside the lake I hugged my robe around me as I stared at the flames of the small fire I had in front of me, watching as the smoke of the burning twigs rose in wisp-like spirals before disappearing out of sight against the dark sky as I chucked another stick at it.

"It's after curfew: you should be in your common room" a voice said quietly from up on the banking behind me as I gave a shrug and failed to turn around as I continued to stare at the burning twigs

"I'm not really caring about it being after curfew: I can't get in anymore trouble than I'm already in"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I attacked another student, more than likely sent her up to the hospital wing. My wand's going to get snapped in two and I'm going to get expelled"

"You're right... and wrong"

"And how's that?" I asked quietly as I turned around and looked at Professor Lupin who stood there with a small smile on his face with his hands in his pockets as he climbed down until he was standing beside me as he sat down on the stones next to me with a look of discomfort as I let out a light laugh

"You look uncomfortable"

"Well I must say that it's been quite a few years since I've had the privilege to sit down on a pile of stones" he said smiling as I shook my head amused and turned back to the fire, glancing past it and at the water that was rippling against the stones

"So are you going to enlighten me as to how I'm right and wrong?"

"Well, you're right in saying that Miss Brown was up at the hospital wing-"

"Now I am going to get expelled- is she alright?"

"Oh yes she'll be fine, Madame Pomfrey fixed her up in no time, there won't be any lasting damage. I'm surprised you asked actually"

"You are?"

"Most people wouldn't have of: they would have of just shrugged it off"

"Most people don't get expelled from Hogwarts- let alone in their third year"

"You won't get expelled, Amelia"

"And how not? I got Lavender sent to the hospital wing with blood streaming from her face"

"I know what it's like to be mocked and ridiculed Amelia, I also know what it's like to get payback. What she done wasn't fair or funny. What you done, however, was a result of accidental magic-"

"It was the result of humiliation and anger-"

"It was still unintentional: you're not going to get expelled, or even a detention for that matter" he cut across me quietly as I continued to stare ahead while we stayed quiet for a couple of minutes

"That was some powerful and interesting magic"

"It's nothing but a nightmare"

"It's impressive to say the least, you're not like other people, Amelia"

"We're in the same boat then aren't we, Moony?" I asked with a light laugh as I turned my head towards him while he sat with a weak smile before letting out a sigh as he glanced at me
