"Dr. Gaster? I'm here. Mind if I come in?" Jay asked as the lab doors closed behind him.
Dr. Gaster was working on the planned machine with Dr. Alphys, making adjustments to the computer unit. "Hmm? Oh, sure! Come in. I was about to call you about-.....what happened to you?" Dr. Gaster said before he noticed the damp spots on Jay's shirt.
"I had a...."close encounter" with a monster?" Jay tried. "An encounter? Which one was it?" Dr. Gaster asked as he and Alphys came over to him.
"It was a large one. It was...a large floating gaster skull. SEVERAL gaster skulls to be exact." Jay explained to the scientist gaster skeleton. When he described it, Dr. Gaster's face turned to shocked. "You mean....gaster blasters...?" Dr. Gaster said.
"What's a gaster blaster?" Jay asked. "Gaster blasters are our relatives from which we originate. They are the true forms which you encountered. Mainly they are wild, but some can be domesticated. I, for one, have four of them." Dr. Gaster explained, raising one hand up and snapping his fingers.
Above him, there were several flashes of light and there appeared four gaster skulls floating above Dr. Gaster. "Woah! You teleported them here?" Jay explained as he took a surprised step back. "Not exactly. Once one connects with a group of blasters by means of a bond, they will stay by their side and aid them when they are called. What you encountered was just a wild group that consisted of four to eight blasters." Dr Gaster explained before he snapped his fingers to send the gaster blasters away.
"Actually, I encountered several dozens of them." Jay said
"Really? That can't be right. For a whole number of blasters to appear in one place, there has to be someone that must summon them." Dr. Gaster explained.
"You mean that someone sent those gaster blasters to attack me? But why?" Jay said.
"It's a possibility. However, I am not sure who was. And I am not sure of their intentions either. Please be aware that I was busy with Alphys." Dr. Gaster said. Jay nodded, certain that the scientist gaster was telling the truth since he has taken an oath to protect Jay. It's more, now that he remembered the shape of the blasters that he encountered, Jay compared them with the shapes of Dr. Gaster's blasters and found that they weren't the same.
"Do you have an idea of which gaster skeleton could have sent the blasters?" Jay asked. "I'm afraid there aren't any more gaster skeletons except me and my two sons, Papyrus and Sans. My younger son Papyrus has difficulty summoning his gaster blasters, while Sans, though capable, doesn't use them at all. Maybe its a gaster skeleton that has been hiding from sight." Dr. Gaster explained as he went back to help Dr. Alphys with the machine.
"What happened to the other gaster skeletons? It seems like there were plenty back a while." Jay asked. This seemed to change Dr. Gaster's face from busy to sad. Jay noticed this and immediately said, "I'm sorry! Did I say something wrong?". "No. It's fine. You are right; there were many gaster skeletons. Well...before the war." Dr. Gaster said, stopping a bit from his work.
"I read the wall writings on Waterfall district and found out about the monsters and the past. What I read...I'm terribly sorry. But...maybe you may be right about a new gaster skeleton. It could be possible that one of them just recently got in through another opening that let monsters in. And if we manage to complete the barrier neutralizer, then we could find out if the war has ended and some monsters have survived." Jay explained to Dr. Gaster. The scientist gaster skeleton looked up at him and said, "Do you really think so?". "Of course. It's not wrong to hope, is it?" Jay said with a smile. Dr. Gaster smiled, nodding.
After helping Dr. Gaster and Alphys on the adjustments, Jay asked, "By the way, what were you going to tell me about when I came in?".
"Right. I was going to tell you about the other traits that the adaptive system has to acquire in order to get the feedback of the system into the machine. Currently you have green, dark blue and the normal energy. The others left are the real sky blue combined with orange, yellow, purple, and red type. In order to obtain them, you must be near a or make physical contact with a monster while they are using their abilities. I have a list of potential monsters that have those abilities, and an equipment that can provide you with one. However, I am not one hundred percent certain that some may be suitable or may have one important trait." Dr. Gaster explained as he took a mobile monitor from the desk and began searching some files, later showing photos of different monsters that had the other abilities.
"Which ones are they?" Jay asked.
"Both sky blue and orange attacks can be adapted by contact, based on how your system works. There are a few monsters unheard of that have both abilities combined, but the one known that currently does have it is his Majesty, King Asgore Dreemurr. I am a bit doubtful about this since he is the strongest of all monsters, but I'm certain that if you would propose a meet-up with him and ask for a mock-up battle, with the purpose of becoming one of the Royal Guard, there may be a chance you will get to acquire both abilities during the mock-up. Still, I prefer to search for those that have those abilities separate so that no one discovers who you really are" Dr. Gaster explained to Jay. He nodded, then asked, "What is the other trait?". "That one, is the red trait. It says in the old books that it surpasses all other traits. Though....it's very rare to find." Dr. Gaster said. Jay was thoughtful for a moment. Then an idea came up to him later.
"What if my core acts as a supplement for the red trait? I mean, it is strong. Could that be enough to break the barrier?" Jay proposed. "You mean...using your energy to power the barrier neutralizer?" Dr. Alphys asked.
"That's right. If it's strong enough, it may be able to sync up with the other traits. I'm not sure if it could work, but I will try my best after I acquire all the other traits." Jay said.
Dr. Gaster smiled and nodded, then Dr. Alphys came over to give him what looked like a small classic phone. "This one will give you in part the yellow ability." Dr. Alphys said as Jay took the phone in his hand. Immediately, a compartment opened on his right arm. Knowing what to do, Jay placed the small device in the compartment. It took the phone in and the compartment closed around it, beginning to adapt it into his arm.

Jay's hand and arm then transformed into an arm cannon, glowed a bit yellow, and later transformed back into the hand. "Guess that's installed." Jay said, moving his hand a bit to feel the difference of the device in his arm.
"That's a first. Alright, now that it's done, here is the monster that has the next trait." Dr. Gaster said as he showed Jay the photo.
