Chapter 59: The Ugly Truth and the Lie

The Eighth Floor Labyrinth's Entrance opens up, and coming forth from the Labyrinth is a particularly chatty Rain and her companion: You.

Rain: "Thanks again U/N! We should do this again some time, this was super duper fun!"

Y/N: "uhh- Sure, I don't mind teaming up every so often... s- so, what's your plan now?"

Rain: "I'm going to head back to town I think, get some food in me and then some rest... Then I suppose I'll head back out here again tomorrow to keep levelling up- I should be fine now thanks to your help after all!"

Y/N: "Don't push it though-"

Rain: "-Awww, are you worried for me?!"

Y/N: "I don't want anyone dying in here, especially not you... I put a lot of effort into levelling you up after all!"

Rain: "Hey! I'm not some digital creature to level up and battle with! And here I thought you cared about me! Hehe!"

Y/N: "I didn't say I didn't... wait, did I? I hate talking..."

Rain: "Hehe! I think it's adorable, and I know you do care for m- for all of us!"

Y/N: "... well, you said you'd have my back so I hope you don't go dying on me in case I ever need to cash that in I suppose!"

Rain: "i-I did say that didn't I? ... ahem s- so what's your plan now that you don't have to babysit me?"

Y/N: "Running errands most likely..."

Rain: "Errands?"

Y/N: "Yeah, whenever I have downtime I always seem to end up spending it helping players with something..."

Rain: "And does that bug you?"

Y/N: "hmmm... I don't know..."

Rain: "You don't know?"

Y/N: "Back in the real world -excuse my taboo- I was always alone, just in my room playing games... I was good at it, and I didn't hate being alone..."

Rain: "But...?"

Y/N: "But I suppose it's also nice to be needed... t-to be wanted again... And if I ended up with time for myself I don't know what I'd do with it in this world, I'd probably be bored out of my mind!"

<A/N: Plus the chapters would be way more boring if the reader just spent half their time lazing around in bed!>

Rain: ". . .well, as long as you're happy then I'm happy! Just tell me if that ever changes, okay?"

Y/N: "..."

Rain: "I'll take that as a yes! Well, we're back in town now... I guess this is where we part ways for tonight, goodnight U/N!"

Y/N: "... have a goodnight Rain."

Rain: "Thanks, do svidaniya!"

Ah, she's already left... that sounded... Russian?

Ah well, what does it matter?

So now what?

For now I guess I can just head back to my room, make myself some dinner (and leave a portion for Lisbeth) and get some rest I suppose. Then tomorrow if I haven't heard from Argo or Asuna about that cooking quest I can see about chasing down someone else, Sachi or Silica maybe?
