Chapter 138: Guilt Brought

Silica: "Tee-hee! Yeah! After Kirito told us about how he met Strea we realised that she's a– uhmmm... "

Y/N: "... A very forward person?"

Silica: "Tee-hee! Yes, exactly! She gives lots and lots of really big hugs too!"

Silica and I had been walking through the town together, just chatting with each other. Silica was currently catching me up on what I had missed these past couple of days, and she had quite a lot to talk about it would seem! And that was why I was currently walking so slowly, so that we could just chat interrupted for as long as possible. I'm in no rush to get to Lizbeth's Smithy after all, so the two of us can just enjoy some time together before I get back to business.

Although, this entire time Pina has been very adamant about sniffing my person... is she perhaps noticing something in my inventory...?

Pina: "Kyuuu! Kyu!"

Silica: "Pina? What's gotten into you today?! You're never this weird around U/N usually!!"

Y/N: "No, I don't think she has, no... I wonder what's changed since the last time we met..."

Pina: "KYU! *rumble* KYU KYU!"

Okay, that was definitely not me... and looking at Silica's face that was currently devoid of embarrassment, it doesn't seem like it was her either... so it must have been Pina's stomach that just rumbled? I didn't realise that they would actually exhibit such realism... that's a bit unfair on the tamers that could end up feeling guilty about not feeding them often enough, isn't it?

Silica: "Pina?! b–But I fed you less than thirty minutes ago!"

Pina: "Kyuuuu..."

Silica: "I really did! I promise U/N!"

 Y/N: "I believe you Silica, I believe you! But... hmmm... maybe it's something specific in my inventory that's triggering this...?"

Pina: "Sskraw Sskrawwwww!!!"

Silica: "p–Pina!!"

Y/N: "Don't worry about it. But huh... I don't think I've ever seen Pina get so excited before."

Silica: "I've never seen her like this either. Pina, what's got you so excited?"

Pina: "Sskraww..."

Y/N: "She's still nudging me, so it must be something in my inventory. But I haven't gotten anything new really... except...? Oh! Maybe its this fruit that I found?"

Pina: "Sskr!"

Taking Pina's exclamation as confirmation, I open up my inventory menu and navigate through it until I find the weird fruit that I had found earlier in the Hollow Area. I then materialised it and Pina immediately jumped onto me and began clinging to my arms.

Silica: "Bad Pina! Down!"

Y/N: "Hey, no worries Silica! I can't eat it anyway, so I'm glad to give it to her if she can!"

Silica: "Are you sure?! Thank you very much, U/N!"

Y/N: "Don't mention it! Here you go, Pina. Eat up!"

I then placed the fruit I had just materialised onto the wall beside us, and Pina quickly flew down to it and started sniffing it.
