• In Love •

If years ago, somebody has told him that he would finally get his happy ending with a beautiful woman who loved him with all of his heart, he would simply scoff at them for mocking him. But now, as he was holding you close into his chest as you slept peacefully, his heart was full and there was nothing else he desired in this world but you.

Severus smiled when you snuggled closer into his chest, slowly waking up in the arms of your lover. He planted a kiss on your shoulder blades, making a soft chuckle escaped your throat and you kissed his chest, moving your lips towards his jaw, a sigh of content was heard from him.

"Morning, love."

His deep and silky voice made your face flush, and you looked up at him, smiling sleepily. Severus brushed a few strands of hair out of your face, admiring you with pride washed over his chest, to see that he had the love of his life with him, loving him just as much as he loved you.

"You're so handsome."

You whispered, clearing your throat as you realised your morning voice was not as charming as his, tracing your fingers down his chest, your eyes never leaving his face as you took in every feature of his dearly.

"Are you trying to flatter me?"

He retorted, arching his eyebrow at you. You had to chew on your bottom lip to hold back a smirk, but Severus knew you too well to know you had something on your mind. Before he could guess, you jumped out of the bed, a mischievous grin was plastered on your face.

"I'll race you to the bathroom!"

Severus heard your words as you ran towards the bathroom, and he was hot on your tail, not giving in easily to you. It was something that he would think as imprudent if he was not so in love with you, but you were his world, and by heaven, there was a plethora of things that he had done because of you, making his life more wonderful and full of colours, all because of you, bringing a light upon his life. 

When he arrived at the bathroom, he rolled his eyes when he saw you standing there with a smug smirk on your face, proud to know that you came first before him.

"You're getting slow, old man."

You said, your smirk turned into a grin when Severus glared daggers at you, crossing his arms against his chest. You knew it would always get under his skin when you joked about his age, and he was annoyed every time you did it. But then a smirk found its way on his face, and he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer towards him.

"That wasn't what you said to me last night."

He argued, smirking, seeing how red your face was at the mention of last night's events. You punched his chest playfully, getting out of his grasp and Severus could only smiled at you.

"You're a loser."

You said in a sing song voice, grinning, as Severus reached out for his toothbrush and you did the same with yours, looking at him through the big mirror's reflection. Severus loved to brush his teeth with you by his side, doing the same, it felt like he was sharing everything in his life with you and he adored it so much. It was something so simple, and yet Severus treasured it, as every moment with you was held dear to his heart. 

"Loser? I'm in love with the most beautiful woman in the whole world. I'm the real winner here, love."

He said casually, smirking as heat rose upon your cheeks, and you nudged him with your elbow, shaking your head at his words. You knew Severus made it his mission every day to make you feel loved and appreciated, and there was never a moment that he failed to do so.

You were an angel in his eyes, and he even worshipped the ground you walked on, loving you with all of his might, the home in his heart was yours and it would forever be yours alone. 

"You're being an idiot, Y/N."

He exclaimed, when you made goofy faces while looking at the mirror, but Severus would be lying if he say that you were not the cutest person he had ever seen in his whole life. Sometimes he felt like his heart could drop from how adorable you were in his eyes, as his love was flowing out of his heart for you, never stopping to love you.

"I'm your idiot, Severus."

"That's right."

For a moment, both of you just stared at each other, savouring every ticking hour as a memorable one. Severus could not believe that he had you in his life, the reason for him to wake up every morning, and the lullaby for him to sleep peacefully without any nightmare destroying his mind. You were perfect for him, completing him as a whole, and he would forever be grateful for your presence in his life.

"I love you, Severus."

No matter how many times you said those words, every time you did it was like a first time hearing it, striking him across the heart, making him feel so happy and warm inside, your sweet words never failed to amuse him, sending a kaleidoscope of feelings rushed through his mind, clouding his senses with so much love and adoration that you held for him.  

"I love you too."

You almost squealed out loud, loving it when he was being gentle and loving towards you. You wanted to admire him even longer, pretending as if you had nothing to do that day but it would be impossible because both of you had responsibilities for the day.

"Let's go, old man."

You said, patting his arm before walking out of the bathroom. Severus caught your wrist before you could escape his grasp, and your eyes widen upon seeing his smirk. There was nothing good could come out when he looked at you that way.

"What did you call me?"

You bit the inside of your cheeks to prevent yourself from smiling, but failing miserably as you burst into laughter. You gasped when he threw you over his shoulder easily, shaking his head as you hit his back a few times, still laughing as he carried you out of the bathroom.

"Severus, put me down!" 

"I can't hear you because I'm old. I'm sorry."

He mocked you, and you groaned, a smile was painted on your face.

"But Severus, I love you!"

He knew he was going to listen to you as your kind words warmed his heart, putting you down on the floor. He towered over you, caressing your face softly and he smiled when you leaned against his touch willingly.

"I'm so in love with you, do you know that?"

You whispered, watching him in awe. Severus kissed you softly, and you kissed him back immediately, melting into a puddle of giddiness as his lips moved with yours like it was meant to be. Severus pulled you closer by your waist, vowing to love you forever, as he could not be able to ever let you go.
