4 weeks later – The twins are here

After class, Finley got on his bike and rode to Med. On the way, he made a quick stop at a gift shop. Infront of Med, he met April, Natalie and Maggie. "Hey ladies." Finley greeted, chaining his bike to the bike rack. "Hey." Maggie said, hugging Finley. "I need your advice before I go upstairs." Finley said and sat down on the wall with the ladies. Finley opened his school bag and took out two teddy bears, one wearing a pink t-shirt and the other wearing a blue t-shirt. "Which one would you like better?" Finley asked and smiled hopeful. "Ah, I think I know what's going on, you want to know the gender of the twins" April said. Finley nodded. "I'm sorry, but Kelly told us not to reveal anything." Maggie said. Finley looked at Natalie. "Sorry, you won't find out anything from me either, why don't you just go upstairs." Natalie smiled and stroked through his hair. Finley rolled his eyes and put the two teddy bears back in his school bag. "It was worth a try." Finley smiled. "Like Natalie said, why don't you just go upstairs and meet the twins." April smiled. "Is it normal to be nervous?" Finley asked. Natalie put her hand on his shoulder. "Yes, but don't worry, we're sure you will be a great uncle." Natalie smiled. Finley nodded and went inside. Outside the room Finley took a deep breath and knocked on the door. "Come in." he heard Kelly's voice say. Finley took another deep breath and opened the door. "Hey, there he is." Matt smiled when Finley walked into the room. "Hey, big one, are you okay?" Kelly asked. Finley shrugged his shoulders and looked around. "Where are the babies?" Finley asked. "They're still at the check-up, but should be here at any moment." Stella smiled. Finley sat next to Kelly on the windowsill and opened his school bag. Kelly put his arm around his brother. "Did something happen in school?" Kelly asked. "I just couldn't really concentrate because I was so excited and I'm warning you ahead of time, but I might get a bad grade next week." Finley said. "Wait, you had a test today?" Kelly asked. "Not that kind of test, I had my presentation about firefighters today." Finley said. "I'm sure you did great." Kelly smiled and kissed his head. "Okay, but now back to this, no one would tell me anything about the gender, so I'm just hoping for a boy and a girl, otherwise I have a problem." Finley said, putting out the two teddies. What are you hoping for?" Sylvie asked. "That they are healthy." Finley said and the others laughed. "Honestly, I never thought about that, but I'd rather say two boys than two girls." Finley said. At that moment, April and 2 nurses came into the room with the baby cribs. "Took a little longer, but the two of them resisted quite a bit, but both are very healthy and have strong voices." April said. "Okay, now may I know what gender the babies are?" Finley asked impatiently. "They are boys." Stella smiled. "And do you already have names for the tow of them." April asked. "Yes, Lincoln Harvey and Micah Henry." Stella said. "I like the names." Finley smiled. "We leave you alone, let us know when you need something." April said and left the room. "Do you want to hold them?" Kelly asked. "Now, but they're sleeping." Finley said. "That doesn't matter." Stella smiled. "Okay, but only one, I can't hold two babies." Finley said. Just as Kelly was about to go to the crib to get one of them, there was a knock on the door and a woman came in. "MOM!!" Kelly and Finley said at the same time. Finley grabbed Kelly's hand and hid behind his brother. "What the hell are you doing here?" Kelly asked. "What, can't I even get to see my two grandchildren after you've taken away my youngest son from me." Jennifer said. "I didn't take him away from you, you just didn't care about him and how do you even know about them anyway?" Kelly asked. "I'm your mother, I just know it." Jennifer said. "If you don't get out of here right away, I'll call for the security." Kelly said, looking at his best friend. Matt prepared for calling the security. When Jennifer tried to get one of the twins out of their bed, Finley stood in her way. "Leave them alone!" Finley hissed at his mother. But Jennifer just pushed him aside and Finley fell on the ground. Matt went to the door and called for the security while Kelly took care of his brother. The security escorted Jennifer outside and banned her from entering the hospital. Finley hit his head on the wall when he fell. "What's going on here?" Connor asked, who now came into the room. "Our mom was here and wanted to see the little ones, but Fin got in her way. Then she pushed him away and he hit his head on the wall." Kelly explained. "Should I have a look at it?" Connor asked and sat down next to Kelly. Connor did a few quick tests. "It seems like he just has a concussion, but I would still like to do another CT just to make sure." Connor said. "Okay, yeah sure." Kelly said. Connor took Finley to the emergency room to do some tests on him. After a few tests, Connor was certain. Connor came into the treatment room in which Finley was lying and sat down next to him on the bed. "Hey buddy, how are you?" Connor asked. "Headache and I'm still feeling sick." Finley said. "You have a slight concussion, but otherwise everything is fine." Connor smiled. "So, I'll let your brother and the others know, they'll be worried about you." Connor said. "Kelly doesn't have to come down, I probably won't have to stay here long, right?" Finley asked. Connor eyed him. "Are you sure?" Connor asked. Finley bowed his head and nodded slowly. Connor sat down next to him on the bed again. "Why shouldn't Kelly come to you?" Connor asked. "He's supposed to be with his kids now." Finley said quietly. "Okay, I'm just blaming this on your concussion now, but do me a favor and don't start again, you know exactly that Kelly loves you and that he's worried about you." Connor said. Finley nodded. "Good, so I'll update Kelly and the others." Connor smiled and gave Finley a kiss on his forehead. "Connor." Finley called. "Yes." Connor said. "Please don't tell Kelly about our conversation." Finley begged. "I thought you weren't hiding anything from him anymore?" Connor asked. "Neither do I, I just want to tell him by myself." Finley said. Connor smiled and left the room. Connor knocked on the door and entered Stella's room. "Well?" Kelly asked. "You don't have to worry, it's just a slight concussion, as I suspected." Connor said. "Can I see him?" Kelly asked. "Yes, of course, come on, I'll bring you to him." Connor said. Kelly looked at Stella. "Go on, don't worry about me and besides, Finley needs you right now." Stella smiled. "By the way, how are the two new family members doing?" Connor asked and stroked the baby's head softly. "Very well, luckily the two slept peacefully and didn't notice anything." Stella said. "Alright, you ready, I'll keep you guys updated, but Fin can probably come back to you tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon at least." Connor said and left with Kelly the room. Connor pushed the curtain aside and let Kelly enter. Finley was asleep by now and Kelly took a chair and sat by the bed. "Hey, how are you?" Kelly asked when Finley wakes up a few minutes later. "I have a headache." Finley said, rubbing his eyes. "Poor little guy, but hey, you know what, I'm very proud of you." Kelly smiled and gave Finley a kiss on his forehead. Finley smiled a bit light-headed. "I'm sorry." Finley said quietly. "For what?" Kelly asked. "I told Connor not to get you." Finley said. "Why?" Kelly asked. Finley bowed his head. "You wanted me to stay with the twins." Kelly said. Finley nodded slowly. "Listen, the twins are fine, they didn't notice what happened, you're the one I'm worried about right now." Kelly smiled and stroked through Finley's hair. Then there was a knock on the window and curtain was opened. "Hey, how are you?" Maggie asked. Finley shrugged his shoulders. "Somebody would like to see you, is that okay?" Maggie asked. Finley nodded and Matt walked into the room with one of the twins in his arms. "Hey buddy, how are you feeling?" Matt asked and handed the baby to Kelly. "I still have a headache." Finley said, handing the baby his finger to hold. "Who is that?" Finley asked. "Lincoln." Kelly smiled after a quick look at the baby's bracelet. "How did mom even know about it, I mean, I haven't seen her since the day you got full custody of me." Finley asked in a shaky voice. Kelly shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, buddy." he said.
