Chapter 21: And So She Confesses

A couple more months have passed and Y/N was fully coordinating with the team about HYDRA. She was on the same page about Bucky as Steve was but everyone else was more focused on stopping him than saving him, including Loki. Loki and her's relationship just felt more and more natural as their days were filled with training, meetings, reading, dancing, and obviously their passionate moments. Y/N's nightmares have ceased for the past couple of months which meant more sleep filled nights but it did concern her that she was not getting anymore memories. She received a phone call from Fury once a week even though she never knew his whereabouts it was good to hear from him. She was now in Tony's lab working with the bracelets Tony had designed. This time they were working and not shocking her at all.

"Finally! I thought I got it months ago but with how strong you got they needed tweaking." Tony said triumphantly. "How is the hunt for the scepter going?"

"It's infuriating. They keep moving it too quickly. It is like they are one step ahead of us again." She replied with a sigh taking the bracelets off.

"How are things going with you and Loki. Coming up on your 4 month aren't ya?"

"I never understood celebrating monthly anniversaries. I do understand celebrating yearly but not monthly." She said. "But yes it is coming up on 4 months. Everything is going great and I wouldn't trade it for anything."

"Glad to hear that Little Assassin." She turns to see Loki leaning on the door frame and she runs up to him hugging him tightly.

"You know, you two get more lovey dovey by the second. It's sickening." Tony says.

"Only in front of you since it bothers you so much." Y/N says with a chuckle. Loki kisses her forehead and then notices the bracelets on the table.

"You still want those infernal things?" Loki asks in a low voice. Y/N nods at Loki and then looks to Tony for help. Loki was always against the bracelets but she still had a small fear since a few months ago she almost lost control when Bucky stabbed Loki. She always thought about what ifs in that situation and the bracelets finally working put her mind at ease.

"There are other features to these things. Such as a tracking device, a camera, communications at a global scale, and not to mention it is weaponized if she chooses to activate it. Only she can activate and deactivate it." Tony says. Loki sighs in defeat, knowing that the two would not change their mind. She was wearing her suit that Tony made that is only worn on missions.

"Is there a mission?" Loki asked.

"Yes but Capsicle and Romanoff are handling it so we just went in here once we realized we were not needed." Immediately Loki turned his gaze to Y/N for more explanation after Tony had answered his question. Tony realized in that moment that she didn't go looking for Loki after being told she wasn't needed and that she had been excluding Loki from certain missions that could possibly involve the Winter Soldier. Y/N quickly backed away and each step backwards she took Loki took a step forward.

"L-Look it wasn't HYDRA related. P-Plus Tony, Banner, and I didn't even go!" She stuttered until her back was against the wall. Loki stopped just arms length away from her as she gulped. When he was toying with her Loki would be inches from her face to tease her, being so far away meant that he was angry with her.

"Per SHIELD's agreement that was sent out, you are supposed to take me with you on missions." Loki points out. It was a excellent point and it was the only reason the ring was not back on his finger. When the agreement was signed, it was also agreed upon by the government so long as one of the best former agents of the world was keeping an eye on the god. Y/N trusted Loki completely to not run off or cause any issues if she were to leave but if anyone, other than the team, ever found out a lot of people would be in trouble. More specifically Loki. But this was not the reason Loki brought it up and she knew that. She doesn't give him an answer as to why lately she has been trying to leave on missions by herself and not have Loki come with her. So they are just staring at each other.
