"I can't believe it!" He cried out, his eyes darting around the room, back and forth, back and forth, all in disbelief. "Here ... this is where you've lived all this time? When you told me you're studying in Scotland ... well ... I didn't think you'd mean this."

You could not help but laugh gently. "The spell wasn't easy and took a lot of figuring out to let you see it. It is quite beautiful, isn't it?"

"Quite beautiful?" He scoffed. "Now I'm wishing I was born a wizard."

"Not that great," Blaise suddenly said, entering the room and throwing a piece of paper on the table before walking around and sitting beside Jack, opposite you. "That's the list. Anything else?"

Jack glanced at the list. "There's two missing."

"No." You snapped. "You can't say it out loud."

"Oh," Jack nodded, "sorry."

"It's fine," Blaise smiled. "We can't risk Voldemort getting into my head and finding out. Keep it to yourself." He paused. "So, you're really friends with Draco?"

"I was surprised too when I found out that he hates us," Jack laughed, "but he seems okay with me."

"And you're telling me you're friends with [F/n], and yet he's still okay with you?"

Jack turned to you, causing you to turn your eyes from the list and onto him, "Draco does know I'm gay, doesn't he?"

"Yes."

"Well, that explains it."

"Oh," Blaise nodded, "That makes sense. I was surprised that that jealous little freak liked you when you're so close with his girlfriend. Makes sense now, though." Blaise paused, thinking carefully, as though he wished to say something but was almost afraid. "My girlfriend ... well ... she's not really my girlfriend," you paused your reading to look up at Blaise as he continued talking. His eyes avoided yours and Jack's gazes, but he went on talking. "She is bi."

"Speaking of," Jack paused, turning to you. "He's on about the Ginny girl, isn't he? Where is she?"

You cleared your throat, looking at the list still.

"Wait, does she even know what you're planning?" Blaise asked.

"Yes, Blaise. Yes she does. She does now." You looked up at him. "That's why she's not here now."

"Wait, what?"

"No, she hasn't left us if that's what you're thinking. She's actually ... gone home to get her family prepared. She hasn't told them the plan or what's going to happen, but she wants everyone prepared for something so that no one dies. She's also gathering her brothers."

"Oh," Blaise nodded, "Alright, fair enough."

"Where is Draco?" Jack asked.

Blaise turned to you, his lips pursed, and the two of you only exchanged glances momentarily as though quietly deciding who was going to tell Jack. You cleared your throat first, after which Blaise proceeded to do the exact same.

"Well, with the Death Eaters," you said, eyeing the list slowly.

"Oh ... okay," Jack nodded, squinting his eyes suspiciously.

The time was ticking on. Days were passing by. It was getting closer and closer to the end - to the end of the Hogwarts. You knew it had to be done. Jack was here now, and he was going to stick by you and ensure that, after your 'death', everything would continue going to plan. He would ensure Draco did not pull a Romeo and Juliet, and he would ensure everything continued as it should. Jack's part in this, indeed, was one of the most important - to keep victory within the fingers of the good side.
