"Y/N!" I heard people coming up from behind. "Let go of her right now," a low growl sounded, multiple people's heavy breathing audible. San slowly did as he was told, his eyes not leaving me though. "Ha... so this is how things turned out in the end huh?" I chuckled, completely empty. "Y/N," Changbin repeated once more as I let out a sigh. "I know, I know. You're gonna take me back, the two groups will fight again, nothing will happen and you'll just keep on swinging me around between the two places like a lifeless corpse without any opinion. I got it, so let's just go already."

There was no getting out of this to begin with. This was my destiny now, so I'd just as well accept it. What else could I possibly do? If I kept on protesting, someone else could get killed because of me. That would be the last thing I want. At least, if I kept on going, maybe no one else would get hurt. I was already beyond helping anyways at this point. I was completely done with all the fighting, the least I could do was put an end to that. I wasn't going to be living a peaceful life anyways, so the least I could do was making it as less horrible as I could.

Everyone was slowly gathering, no one saying a word. They all knew I was correct anyways. I looked back at San, an empty smile. "I'm sorry about Hongjoong," I managed to get out, walking past everyone else. "Are you guys just going to keep standing there?" Everyone was quick to follow, all rather unsure how to behave however. Though Yeosang was about to stop me from leaving, San held him back, shaking his head. Without their leader, everything suddenly seemed a lot harder.

"Y/N, we should probably get up in the trees again, it looks like we're soon reaching the end of their territory," Felix marked. Ah, that's right. For one split second the thought of just keeping on going crossed my mind, but I valued my life too much for that, no matter how bad it seemed. Minho came up to me, helping me up, the other's joining one by one... except for two. "Seungmin and I are staying here for a bit longer, you guys go ahead," Chan said as he held a confused Seungmin back. Changbin and Minho glanced at each other, both eventually approving. "Just know that if you do something idiotic, we'll go after your asses," Minho noted, all of us soon continuing without the two.

I couldn't help but wonder what they would talk about...

"Hey..." Chan started off awkwardly. "It's been a while hasn't it?" Within a split second Seungmin had wrapped his arms around Chan's torso, tears flowing down. Chan was shocked at the action, he had never seen Seungmin so close to him, but even Chan started tearing up. After all this time of talking to each other, planning to get out, they had become nothing but enemies. Even when they finally saw each other, they couldn't help but be in conflict, over a girl even. Was this really what their friendship had become?

"It's been really tough hasn't it?" Seungmin asked, slowly letting go of Chan, wiping a tear away. Chan nodded, scared that his voice could break down any minute if he did speak. It was hard on him, way harder than he had ever anticipated. He missed his home, his family, the times where he could just be with Y/N without any care in the world, and here he was, now both him and Y/N in this mess, all because of him. It was all his fault that they'd gotten stuck, and moreover, that Y/N seemed miserable.

Chan couldn't help but imagine what it must have been like for Seungmin, after all these years. "How did you do it?" Chan asked, barely audible as his voice indeed broke down. Seungmin looked down. He couldn't tell the real reason. Not because he didn't trust Chan, but because giving up all hope wasn't the message he wanted to give Chan. Hope seemed to be the only thing his friend had left at this point.

"I don't know either in all honesty, but I'm just glad to see we're both still alive," Seungmin answered, trying to bring out the positive aspect. Chan nodded, a small smile appearing on his face. "I guess this all means there really is no way out of this is there?" Chan asked to Seungmin's surprise. "I mean, we tried everything. The barrier was impossible to get through, this place is first of all too dangerous, and doesn't even have an exit either. These two places were the only ideas he could come up with in all these months. The hope Seungmin thought Chan had, slowly seemed to be disappearing as well.

"You... you know about the deal made years ago, don't you?" Seungmin asked hesitantly. "I do, but I'm afraid that would mean that one of us, if not both of us, is getting killed, doesn't it?" Chan asked, dismissing the idea. Trying to get the two sides to fight to the death would probably be one of the worst ideas, though frankly it seemed like the only option there was for at least one of them to gain back their freedom.

"Couldn't we just hide while they fight? If they don't come after us, who knows! We might be able to at least live here in peace, wouldn't that be something?" Seungmin tried, but Chan quickly dismissed of that as well. "There will always be at least one of them left, and frankly, I'm afraid that we wouldn't be able to beat him. It sucks, but they're way more powerful than we are..." Both boys fell quiet, unsure of what to do or say when everything looked so gloomy. Seungmin's eyes met Chan's, as Chan let out a sad smile.

"It's about Y/N, isn't it?"
