Braylon's POV

"So, can you tell us already?" Cason asked impatiently.

"We're thinking, alright?" Carter called and the team groaned.

"Coach Parker, can't you speed them up?" Ashton asked and the boys looked at me.

"They don't play about football," I said. "That's why Alex is wearing my jersey." She smiled.

"Really?" She asked and I smiled and nodded. "Yes!"

"Congrats Alex," Austin said. "Even though I can rock that jersey better than you." She slapped his arm and we laughed.

"Ok, we've decided," Braydon said and they paused.

"So?" Marcus asked.

"Oh yeah," Justice said. "Marcus, I want you to wear mine."

"Light skin power," he said and they high fived.

"Ashton, I want you to wear mine," Carter said.

"Yes," He said.

"Austin," Braydon said.

"Me?" He asked.

"No, I want Cason Parker to wear my number," he said.

"Ok screw you," Austin said and we laughed.

"Wait, really?" Cason asked shocked.

"You're the new pretty boy," Alex said, Cason smiled.

"I also know you wanted my jersey for different reasons," Braydon said. "Now you can go home and tell your brothers and your sisters that you got to Braydon Monroe's jersey number."

"How'd you know?" Cason asked.

"You're mom," he said. "She said you have been arguing nonstop with your siblings about it. You earned it."

"Even though I married your fiancé before you?" He asked.

"Don't push it Parker," he said and we laughed again.

"Here's the jerseys," Justice said and they dug them out. Alex took off her shirt and it came up a little, it was a big new bruise.

"What happened?" Cason asked. "Man Alex."

"It's fine, I slipped on water washing dishes last night," She said.

"Alex, that doesn't look like a slip and fall bruise," Austin said.

"Guys," she said.

"Do you have any stepparents?" Braydon asked.

"I have a stepdad," she said.

"Any step siblings?" He asked.

"I have three older step brothers," She said.

"Do you fight with them?" He asked.

"All the time, over the stupidest stuff," she said.

"They get away with it but you don't," Carter said.

"Yeah," she said.

"Do you get along with your stepdad?" Braydon asked and she swallowed.

"Not really," She mumbled. "It doesn't matter what I do, all I am is a spoiled brat. I told my mom I was playing football, he laughed at me and told me those boys would crush me." my phone rang.

"Excuse me," I said. "Hello?"

"Can you come down here? I need to talk to you," Dylan said.

"But practice," I said.
