39. Hawkins is Out of Power

June 28, 1985

Richie tapped his fingers on the counter as he gave out movie tickets to loud and obnoxious people. Ever since summer started he's started working at the movie theatre in the mall. Which was just by Robin and Steve's work. They both were now scooping ice cream for Scoops Ahoy.

"Here you go, three tickets to Day of The Dead. Enjoy!" Richie said handing the tickets to the small group of teenagers.

Richie drops the smile from his face and rubs his eyes. He looks up at the clock on the wall seeing his shift had ended thirty minutes ago. He sighed thinking if he should just do some overtime. Or just go over and see Robin considering he didn't go over to Scoops today.

That's usually what Richie does for work. He'll work overtime and pick up extra shifts so he can save up money for college. And when he's on break he'll spend it hang out with Robin and sometimes Steve considering their relationship has gotten better.

Richie ran his hand through his messy hair and decided to just head over to Scoops considering he was pretty tired, plus he could use some ice cream.

Richie started walking over to the back door that had access to Scoops Ahoy. However, Richie sees a familiar-looking face leaning their head out of the door looking around. It was of course his cousin Mike and his friends.

Richie notices their starting to head towards the showing of Day of The Dead.

So Richie decides to make a detour and walk in front of them blocking their access to the movie. Crossing his arms making them all halt to a stop.

"And what do you, shitheads think you're doing?" Richie asks raising his eyebrows. Mike and Lucas both groan and roll their eyes. "God, this is like the third time this week."

Richie looked at the group everyone looked annoyed especially Will. Most likely with Mike again.

"You guys seem pretty late, what happened?"

Will starts to eye Mike. "Somebody was late at meeting us today." Richie raises his eyebrows. Which causes Lucas to start puckering his lips and making kissing noises at Mike.

Mike puts his hand into Lucas's face and pushes him away. "Shut up, are you going to let us in or what Richie!"

Richie lets out a heavy breath through his nose and shakes his head. Telling them they can go. They all sigh with relief and start to walk into the theater.

"Remember don't get caught! Or I'll lose-" Richie shouts but gets cut off by the party all yelling. "We know!"

Richie scoffs and starts walking off to the ice cream shop mumbling under his breath. "Боже, они гребаные идиоты." (God, they're fucking idiots.)

Richie walks into the back room of Scoops Ahoy grabbing an ice cream scooper from the table. He walks out into the front seeing both Steve and Robin are serving a customer.

Richie looks and grabs a small ice cream cup then starting to scoop some vanilla ice cream into the cup.

"Seriously?" Steve shouts as he finally notices Richie grabbing himself ice cream.
