"He says it's called the key, and that this met emits a great amount of energy. That it requires a lot of strength, well lots of power. Those houses like the one that you two found they're located near transformers. They're taking power from the town's power grid." Murray explained to Joyce and Hopper who were both smoking a cigarette.

"But, why build this key here? Why are they not doing this in their own backyard? What are they just trying to blow us to smithereens?" Hopper questioned. Murray quickly nods and translates to Alexei.

"There were many of these keys already in Russia, but they had turned out wrong. They had to come where the, uh-" Murray looks at Alexei slightly confused. "I uh, I don't understand what he's saying."

"But, I thought you were fluent though." Joyce asks her face scrunching in confusion.

"Oh, well I'm sorry. Are my free translation services not good enough for you? Because you know, you can just go ahead and file your complaint right up my ass, Joyce!" Joyce holds her hand up stopping him from going on.

Suddenly Alexei grabs onto a straw and an empty fry container, holding it up for everyone to see. "What the hell is he doing?"

"Shut up will you, he's trying to show me." Alexei holds the straw up, pointing it at the back of the container. "He's saying the straw is supposed to be them using it to penetrate a hole in a box? No, no, no, sorry. The straw represents the key that emits great energy. They're using this energy to break through a barrier to open a doorway. A doorway between worlds." Alexei suddenly slams the straw into the container. Both Joyce and Hopper's shoulders tense slightly as the realization hits them. "However, it seems like the key was only half the equation. The location was just the other half."

Alexei grabs onto a piece of paper, handing it to Joyce. "In Hawkins, this door had been opened once. It was still healing." He slams the straw through the paper, tearing it.

"So, this door, it's open now?

"He says that it's still opening."

Joyce gasps slightly as her mind immediately went to Will. She gets up from the ground, grabbing for the phone. "What are you doing?" Hopper asks her.

"I'm calling our children!" Hopper jumps from the ground and hands towards the kitchen, panting slightly. He looks around, trying to find a glass of alcohol.

"Uh, can I help you with something?" Murray says as he walks up to Hopper.

"Yeah, whiskey, do you have some?"

"Uh, no, but I do have some vodka." Murray turns toward the fridge and grabs a bottle of vodka and two glasses. He pours them both a glass, handing one to Hopper.

"If there's a way to start this key, there has to be a way to fucking stop it. There has to be a way to turn the key off."

"Yeah." Murray slams his glass onto the counter and sits beside Alexei. "Ключ, есть ли способ его отключить?" (The key, is there a way to turn it off?). "He saying, that he could turn it off. Could Edison turn off a lamp, could Bell not hang up a phone? Cocky bastard, but he is now naked." Hopper raises his eyebrows in confusion. "No, sorry, exposed, compromised."
