Chapter 29 - Starting to let go

I let the birthday girl drag me away into her room happily.

Honestly seeing that glimmer in her eyes I couldn't possibly say no, I want nothing more in this world than to have my own little princess to spoil.

Which is why I'm possibly the favourite aunt as well to my little niece and nephew, I get told all the time by Mia that I spoil them rotten but I don't care, as long as their happy I'm happy.

"Are you going to be using your new Mercedes F1 W06 Hybrid?" She asks me sweetly as she sits me down on her bed before going to grab something.

Holy shit this kid knows her stuff.

"Yeah, your very clever for knowing the exact specs of the car" I chuckle out in disbelief.

"My granny got me a formula1 book for my birthday and it has all the stuff about the racers and their cars" She says as she pulls out what I'm assuming is thing she's looking for.

"Is this the book?" I question as she takes a seat beside me on the bed, I smile when I see how much her feet dangles off the edge where I'm practically having my knees up to my chest.

"Yeah, your in this book too it's actually my favourite part because you have your own section because your the number one in the world" she says cutely as she flicks through the pages until she stops on a double spread page with a large photo of me and my car.

She then lifts the heavy books in her tiny hands so it sits in my lap, "It has all of your winning dates along here, look" she says as she uses her tiny finger to point at the column on the page with all the championships I've won.

"Wow this is very cool" I say as looking over my many accomplishments over the years, honestly I'm proud of myself.

I remember being Roses age and thinking about how cool it was to see all these racers on the track, wishing it was me out there.

And now here I am, the world champion, I'd say I did pretty damn good.

"You really know your stuff huh?" I says with a smirk as I look over to the little girl who's still looking down at the book.

She looks up at me with her big green eyes and nods her head excitedly "I know all the different parts of your car that makes it the best" she says making me smile and shake my head, this kid is unbelievably smart for her age.

"Well, how about tomorrow before my race you can show me all the parts you know when I show you the car" I say shutting the book in my lap giving her cheeky smile.

She smiles ever so brightly as she bounces up and down on her bed showing she likes that idea.

"Alright sunshine, let's see your collectors cards" I say making her squeal with excitement before jumping of the bed and bringing out the next things to show me.

After some time had past of her showing me all of her formula1 stuff and listening intently to her cute rambling about how much she loves the races.

We get interrupted from our conversation when there's a gentle knock on the door.

From both laying on the floor we turn our heads to see Elizabeth peeking her head in smiling at us both.

"Just wanted to check up on you two goofballs to see what your doing" she says with a toothy grin as she walks in.

"Aunty Lizzie, Ryder was telling me her secrets on how she won her first championship" Rose says scrambling up on her feet as she runs over to Elizabeth.
