As the moon kissed upon the glass, a girl hid behind the charm surrounding the house not feeling a single light upon her.

Everything around her was dark, the fireplace was on and she sat right in front of it, her body cold and weak.

It's been a couple of minutes between the time of the cold they shared, to being inside and hiding with their thoughts.

Time was all they had and they rushed. Since the beginning, Draco and Claude were still young... Young and rushing the days they could have within minutes.

Every second counted. Every second pushed her away from him.

Every second pushed her way from the truth, but Draco was never pushed, she stayed afloat in his thoughts from the beginning and invariably.

Footsteps sounding on the hard floor shook the girl who stared blankly at the fire, keeping her mind warm and swooning.

"We haven't–" He said. Only stopping when she turned her head up, watching him gaze at her from across the room, she smiled.

"I know." She whispered as her eyes turned back to the golden flames, "We haven't talked about what happened. I know."

The way they both understood each other was different. He would know just by the way she spoke, she would notice the glint in his eyes disappearing some moments.

It was the way they couldn't help but understand. She didn't want to know him well, because it would if she were able to piece together why he does such things.

She didn't know it was for her, for them, for the people he cares about. Draco wouldn't let a single dark soul settle on her, he felt she was too pure, too vulnerable at times where her heart was torn.

Tracing his foot towards her he saw the small reflection of the fire fall down her cheek. Until a hand blew it away.

Then he said something so unexpected. Something that will forever both hurt and warm her heart.

"Tell me about her." He said, "You must have loved her more than anything, Daphne is it? Your sister?" Her heart dimmed when he mentioned the name.

She had forgotten about her and it hurt. Everything hurts now. She promised not to forget about Daphne and she did and she couldn't help but feel hurt.

This type of hurt couldn't be shown, it wasn't. She didn't cry but the pain was still there. She didn't scream, she didn't cry, she just told.

"She was lovely." A breath of relief escaped her lungs, it was easier now. It was easier to talk.

He sat behind her in the chair that she laid against, she was talking, it was enough he didn't want to break a vow like he did her heart.

His hands rested on her hair, feeling the heat of the fire as it consumed their tainted skin, replacing it with a new feeling.

The touch he made cooled the heat, his hands ran through her strands of brown hair, from top to bottom, he soothed her till the end.

"She was– She is a baker. She's the nicest person you could ever meet, nicer than Luna Lovegood, which is precisely impossible." Claude let a laugh follow after her words, memories of the girl.

"But she was– she is. She is my favorite person, adoring everyone, even if you were cruel to her she would always find that spark inside each person."

A shaking breath emerged in the girl's throat as she spoke, it was quiet now. She stilled when the boy heard her breaths shake.

It's hard to talk about someone you never know their status of death or living, and it's scary to wonder.
