Chapter 89

"Introducing your new champion! Sylvia Pendragon!"

The words echoed in her head like pure insanity. Evania honestly didn't think Sylvia would ever draw Excalibur. Yet she did, only to have Evania never sleep with clothes on again? The very idea of it was nuts.

As soon as Kai yielded and returned to her human form, Sylvia practically collapsed onto her knees, Excalibur barely being used to hold her up. Evania sprinted into the arena, her crutches forgotten as she and Kai sprinted towards their Succubus friend.

Evania threw herself under Sylvia's sword arm, moving to wrap her own arms around Sylvia's torso to let her absorb as much mana as she could. Sylvia moved backwards so she was seated on her rear before wrapping her own arms around Evania with a chuckle. "I did it. I fucking did it." She gasped, her voice sounding completely exhausted.

Kai tilted her head towards the sword who's golden blade was still embedded in the sand just in front of them before turning back at Sylvia and kneeling at her other side. She put a hand on Sylvia's shoulder and took her free hand that the Succubus offered her.

"No hard feelings? Right? I didn't want to kick your ass. Evania made me." Sylvia confessed.

"Honestly, I feel a lot better knowing you didn't go easy on me this time." Kai chuckled. "I really wish you would stop teasing me though."

"That's part of my tactic. You do stupid shit when your mad. You should really work on that." The succubus grinned.

"I'm also surprised you didn't use more magic."

"I don't have charms and shit that would effect you, and that's what I specialize in. After you broke my disk I realized my best bet was my sword arm. Then you broke that." Sylvia explained as Evania leaned back a bit, still holding onto Sylvia but giving her enough room. "I had to improvise."

Kai turned her head towards Evania. "So you really just kept promising more didn't you?"

Evania's face turned red and she buried her face in Sylvia's neck getting her to chuckle. "She does not wish to answer at this time."

"Of course not." Kai chuckled. "How's your arm?"

"My whole body hurts like I was turned into a Kitsune chew toy."

"Which you were."

"I was." Sylvia laughed. "I think I'm going to take a few days to rest and recover."

"I meant more, how is your arm after wielding Excalibur?"

Sylvia tested her right hand curiously before seeming to realize what she meant when Evania leaned back to look at her. "I match Vanessa more than I like."

"It's fading." Evania answered. "The purple is coming back." She gently touched her palm to Sylvia's cheek and smiled as the gold seemed to fade out of Sylvia's eye as the golden symbols retreated down her face and neck slowly.

Kai turned her head towards Excalibur once more. "It's good to see you again."

The sword answered with a hum of magic that seemed to pulse from the blade. A warm sense of calming seemed to spread out from that sword, that almost reminded Evania of a polite bow.

Sylvia reached past Evania and held her hand out towards Excalibur before a golden sigil appeared on the ground just under it's blade. The sword slowly sank into the sigil as the succubus smiled. "Thank for the assist Excalibur." The sword answered with another pulse of magic before disappearing into the sigil before it closed behind it.

Sylvia then looked back at Evania with a soft smile, gently touching Evania's cheek. "What about your leg?"

"Once the adrenaline wears off I'm sure it's going to hurt." Evania answered. "But for now, I'm fine."
