Evania's eyes opened and she found herself standing in her old living room. She was standing in front of the couch where she glanced around and saw all of her old pictures framed on the walls. She looked around in awe before her eyes locked on the door as it swung opened.

Standing in front of her was a slightly younger looking version of her father, without the scar across his face. His black hair was a little longer, and his once golden eyes were now a dark hazel brown. He was wearing jeans and a green T-shirt with dirty white sneakers.

His eyes locked on Evania who stared back at him. A sense of fear filling into her heart as the man looked at her, glancing at her up and down. His mouth opened and closed a few times like he was trying to speak, but couldn't find the words.

"Eva? Is it...?"

"Dad?"

He stepped forward, his arms opening to hug her before he froze as she quickly stepped back, her eyes filled with fear. He noticed this, and stopped moving forwards. Realization and understanding seemed to cross his expression as his eyes filled with tears. "You're not... You're not dead... are you?"

"No... I'm at your grave."

"You're... Are you away from him? Tell me you're free from that... that monster!" Kaage's hands tightened into fists like he was strangling the life out of something invisible.

"Alice saved me... Agora is dead now, and I'm in the human world with mother." She explained.

Kaage smiled. "You're free? Free from all those horrible people that hurt you?"

"You're not... You're not the way you were before..."

"Before I died you mean?"

"Why? Why did you change so much? Why did you do all those horrible things to me? Why?" Evania whimpered, her own eyes watering.

"I didn't." Kaage answered, lowering his hands.

Evania scoffed. "How dare you-"

"I mean that literally Evania. I didn't. I died shortly after I was turned." Kaage confessed.

Evania blinked. "What?"

"Agora was unsatisfied that I was not bending to him the way he intended. At first he was trying to break me, but I refused." Kaage explained, looking down at his hands. "Eventually, he had a shade take possession of my body, and slowly devour my soul while keeping in complete control over my body itself. For about six years I was watching as that shade used my body to do horrible things before he finally consumed my soul and replaced me."

"For six years you were a prisoner in your own body?" Evania asked, blinking away the tears in shock.

"I was... I tried so hard to send you a message. A sign that I was still there. But I couldn't Everytime I tried that shade overpowered me and... I'm so sorry Eva, for all the horrible things he did to you with my body. I would never, ever do that to you!"

"You were never... You never turned into the monster I thought you did... That was never you?"

"I will admit, there was one thing that I did to you. When you were first being turned, Agora assured me that if I gave you my blood after my turning was complete you would be even stronger than me. I wanted you to be stronger so you could overpower him. I think... I think it gave you an amplified version of my power." He explained.

"That's why my words held so much magic. You gave me your power while I was turning."

"But you should have your own power too!" Kaage confessed. "A power completely unique to you!"
