Today is my turn.
Silas' POV.
Les lies there on her back with the cover pulled over her fragile body.
Her chest going up and down is the only sign that she is still alive.
I'm scared to go to sleep.
What if I roll over and crush her to death? Or what if I fall asleep and she suddenly gets a heart attack and I don't wake up? Or what if she needs me and I'm not here? What is she wakes up and needs to throw up and I'm not here to help her up so she chokes on it and dies?
Oh god.
My heart beats loudly in my throat as my nerves only grow.
That can't happen
It can't.
It really can't.
I keep looking at my Les, to make sure she's okay even though I am panicking internally.
I slowly take her hand in mine and place my fingers on her wrist so I can feel her steady heartbeat.
It's slower then it should be but it's there.
Suddenly she starts to stir a little before her beautiful eyes open.
I look at her a little alarmed
She slowly turns her head at me.
"Hey Les" I smile softly while rubbing some circles on her hand.
She gives me a small smile as her eyes close again for a few seconds before opening up again.
"Do you want to eat or drink something?" I ask her.
She shakes her head a little, indicating that she doesn't.
I get that, she had chemo a few hours ago. She's probably nauseous.
"H...hold me?" She asks tiredly.
I smile and nod my head, "sure Les, come here" I whisper gently while coming closer and wrapping my arms around her.
I feel her smile against me as I slowly rub her back up and down.
She has lost a lot of weight.
"When's next chemo?" She asks me tiredly.
"The day after tomorrow" I inform her.
She looks at me pained.
"I know, I'm sorry" I tell her pained myself.
"Two more weeks baby, then we'll go back to the doctor and hope that all the cancer cells are destroyed" I say softly.
She sort of nods her head.
Soon her eyes start to close again as sleep takes over her body.

I picked Les up and brought her downstairs to the living room earlier today.
