Chapter 2: Only Priority

A Week After
Geronas' Residences, Beverly Hills, California
Theresia's POV

"O? So, kumusta naman ang buhay may asawa?" Leila asked me as soon as I handed her a cup of coffee. We asked her to visit us today. "Sobrang saya, ate Lei! Sobrang maalaga talaga si Leonor. Hindi ako nagkamali sa pinakasalan ko," I said proudly and she smiled.

"Ikaw, ate? Mag-aasawa ka ba ulit?" I asked and she shaked her head. "Nako! Hindi na 'no! Sobra-sobra na yung pagmamahal ng asawa ko noong nabubuhay pa siya. Tama na yun!" she answered and I smiled downwards while lending a hug to her.

"Maganda na rin yun. At least ako yung tipo ng tita na yayamanin at walang asawa. Tas tamang chill lang kasi walang away at hiwalayang magaganap," she joked and we laughed together. "Grabe, te Lei? Masarap kaya magmahal," I said and she laughed harder.

"Alam mo anong masarap? Itong kape mo! Hindi pa rin talaga nagbabago timpla. Impressive!" she said, pulling up two thumbs up from both of her hands.

"Speaking of masarap... Hindi pa rin ba kayo nag-aano ni Leonor?" she asked. "Nag-aano?" I asked. She puckered her lips, "Alam mo na yun, Theresia. Nahuli ko pa nga kayo dati," she reminded me of her traumatic moment and I gasped.

"H-hindi pa ate! Ano ba! Ang kalat, jusko!" I playfully hit her arm. "Wow. May 'pa' si accla?!" she said in a high note. "Ate, ano ba?! Nakakahiya," I said. "Sus! Nakakahiya raw pero namumula," she laughed as she continued to tease me.

"Pero last week, may nakita kaming batang naliligaw. Tapos, while we accompanied the child, talagang ganap na ganap si Leonor. Nakita kong mabait pala siya sa mga bata," I narrated and Leila nodded at my words.

"Baka naman preparation na niya yun. Sign na pwede na kayong magka-anak," she said letting out laughters. "Ako talaga, hindi ko pa siya nakitang ganun dati dahil laging matatanda naman na nakakasama namin sa kumpanya."

"Eh ayun na nga yun. Handa na maging mommy ang isang Leonor," she joked again and we laughed together.

A moment of silence came after. "Teka! Nasaan nga ba yung asawa mo?" she asked, looking around the living room. "Nasa taas pa. CEO duties, you know." I said and Leila almost spitted her coffee. "TRABAHO?! PA RIN?!" she reacted by which I nodded to.

"Grabe ha! Di man lang ako pinagbigyan ng oras. Minsan lang me nandito," she pretended to act jealous. "Di naman! Bababa rin yun dito!" I told her while laughing.

It's been an hour already, wala pa rin si Leonor. Mauubusan na ako ng ikukwento kay ate Lei sa sobrang kadaldalan naming dalawa. "Wait lang, ate. Akyatin ko lang si Leonor. Baka tapos naman na siya," I said. "Yan! Buti nga, nako!" she said and laughed after.

I went to check on my wife. When I opened the door, she was still in a meeting. "Love?" I whispered and I caught her attention. "Yes?" she mouthed. "Si ate Lei! Nasa baba, kanina pa." I said.

She suddenly frowned. "Sorry, love! Nasa meeting pa ako. Look," she said, whispering. I nodded and waved at her. After giving me flying kisses, she focused back on her meeting.

"Ayun, ate. Baka di pa talaga bababa yun. On going pa eh." I said. Leila laughed hardly. "Hay nako, Leonor! The hardworking woman that you are talaga.." she said while shaking her head. "Hatid mo na ako sa labas." sabi niya. "Yes po, madzum. Ito na po!" we chuckled.

As soon as we were able to reach the street right outside our door, Leonor's black BMW, her favorite car, was parked there. Yung iba niya kasing kotse, naka-park sa garage. Ito lang ang nilalabas niya for daily use. Ihahatid ko lang si ate Lei hanggang sa labas ng village namin.
